Our experience at Character Breakfast at PCH

TERRIBLE.
We had to wait 40 minutes for a table past our reservation time.
When I finally asked, they said someone already took our ticket and we should have been seated already.
Our waitress really wasnt with it mentally.
She brought us new silverware when we asked for the check.
The food was only OK. The eggs and things were pretty bad, but the waffles were pretty good.
We had to ask our waitress TWICE for the birthday song etc for our daughter after we finished eating and sat there 20 minutes waiting (with sparkling silverware). We finally asked a different waitress and she made it happen.
The whole thing was a huge frustration and let-down.
We've been to several character breakfasts in the past, and this one really made the record books for our family.

It was our last day... and the trip was so much fun before that... so I cant complain too much!
I have a strong feeling most of it was the waitress.. who, by the way was a really nice woman. Just NOT cut out for that job.
I doubt she'll last long there :-( Which is good news for everyone, except her of course.

Funny, I had the same experience at Goofy's Kitchen. Got there, waited for 45 minutes while other people who arrived after us were seated. When we complained, we were told we should've been seated half an hour before. We get in and there's empty table everywhere, so that didn't really cool me down. Plus, we had the hardest time getting characters to come to us. But the food is really good there, so I can see us going back possibly.

We didn't have the experience you had at PCH. This was our first ever character meal at DL back in 2013. We had ressies at 8:30 on a day the parks opened at 10am. The place was half empty, we were seated immediately, and we had a lot of fun with the characters. I'll agree that the food was so-so as I remember. I would only go back because it's the only character meal with Mickey.

I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience at PCH Grill as well. I've only been once (November) and it went well for my group. We waited a bit to be seated (but nothing that I'd consider unreasonable) and then had pretty good character interactions. The food was okay, but it was in line for what I was expecting at a breakfast buffet. I am glad to hear the rest of your trip went well!
