Our Escape Wedding TR/PJ ~ 06/2010 WP/Mizner's/Citricos

So I JUST bought my Welcome Dinner dress online and I have to share! I think it will match the atmosphere of Ohanas pretty well :goodvibes And it has pockets, how neat is that? :woohoo:

oooh LOVE the shoes! I am drawn to really high heels but not so good at wearing them...so we'll see about my wedding shoes. Right now I have nice silver shoes that were pretty comfortable for being so high...but I may chicken out and get a smaller heel. I really love those ones though and I love your inspiration board! I tried to do one once but then got frustrated so I kinda gave up.

Yay for booking make-up! I was really happy with how Ana did my make-up for my epics, I'm sure she'll do a great! I also usually only wear mineral make-up but I feel like I do tend to look more washed out in pictures and it doesn't really last as long as regular make-up, which I would be concerned about on my wedding day.

Thanks Sara :cool1: There's something sexy about heels, I'm always drawn to them too. I initially thought I'd wear flats but kept going back to heels. You could always have two pairs just so you can wear higher heels for the ceremony and lower heels for the reception! It's funny because my inspiration board came from me copying a bunch of pictures into paint and then I just took the time to organize it. But I guess it came out pretty well! I'm so glad you like Ana - I keep hearing such great things about her and her company. I can't wait! :cloud9:

I love the shoes and the colors. I just ordered a black and white polka dot bathing suit!! :goodvibes. And I'm also in love with dresses with pockets. Very cute.

really cute dress! And it does match the decor at Ohana!

I know, I love the look of high heels but my feet are terrible and pretty much all shoes, except for uggs, lol, hurt my feet. But low heels will probably hurt somehow too, so might as well go for what looks better!

She is really great, I think you'll be very happy. I didn't even have pictures or anything and really didn't give her much to go on but I loved how my make-up turned out and so did DF!

I LOVE that dress (where did you buy it?!) I think it will be perfect.

The shoes are great! They are so classy. I also really like your inspiration board. Everything looks great

Ok-- did I miss the Polka Dots before? Anyways- knowing this I absolutely think you made an AWESOME decision w/ the shoes and going black. That was my favorite pair of the new Bagdley Mischka's (you got me looking :rolleyes1) ! I totally think you need either some black accessory or go w/ the polka dot bouquet wrap b/c it would be a unique twist to tie it in.

The dress for Ohana is super cute! Good Choice!! :goodvibes

What a cute pattern for a bathing suit, Sam! I need to get a new one for the honeymoon - maybe I should look into some polka dot patterns, that would be really cute! I love pockets on dresses too. :goodvibes

Haha I love your pattern of reasoning! Yes I say go for the high heels if low heels will hurt you just as much :cutie:

I love that dress! I think it will go great at Ohana'a and how cool are the pockets? awesome!

Thanks Becky! Pockets are awesome. I think I own now at least 3 or 4 dresses that have them. I should have looked at a wedding dress with them, hehe. I remember seeing on Say Yes to the Dress a neat dress that had pockets!

Thank you Jennifer!! The dress is by Walter. I actually bought it on Hautelook.com which is an awesome website I'm now in love with that sells discounted designer pieces. But I found the same dress in a different pattern is at Macys: http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=437080&CategoryID=46371

Don't worry you didn't miss them before! The polka dots were a new addition :cloud9: Early on I wanted polka dots incorporated into the look of the wedding but never really added them in. Then when I figured out that I wanted black shoes, I decided it was the perfect time to add them since our colors were yellow with green and black/white polka dots look great with yellow!! I plan on asking Rosie to use a black/white polka dot ribbon for my yellow Gerber daisy bouquet. Plus I'm getting a hair piece made with them!

I have been struggling with what to do with my hair for a while now. I have very short layered hair and don't want to grow it out for the wedding, so any sort of updo wasn't going to happen. I thought about getting a flower for my hair, but came across a stunning lace headband online and decided that maybe I should do a headband instead! Unfortunately, I had no idea where to buy the headband because it was just the picture I came across. I have been searching online for months, looking for this elusive lace headband. I even contacted the girl that posted it but she couldn't remember where she had originally seen it either. But yesterday I actually found the headband on Etsy!!! So I am of course purchasing it:

It combines what I wanted with a flower in my hair and a headband. And the vintage lace has that antique look like the lace appliques on my dress, so I hope they go as well together as I think they will. The seller says the lace is actually from Christian Dior's lingerie line from 25 years ago, haha. Kind of neat I guess! I am also having the seller incorporating a black/white polka dot guinea feather to tie it in with my theme. Yay! :yay:

I love the headband. Not something I could ever wear but I think it will look great on you!

Oh I missed the dress! Super cute...love the pockets. My rehearsal dress has pockets too!!

And I adore that headband!! I had it on my wish list at one point but my hair's too short...sometimes I'm envious of you girls with long hair!! LOVE IT!

Thanks! I think it's really delicate and elegant, so hopefully it will look good on me and with the dress. I wear headbands casually so I'm just hoping this fancy one looks good! Mandy, I have really short hair too! I think headbands are a neat option for short haired brides - you should try some out :goodvibes

Lol I just reread it and totally missed you said you had short hair!!! I am actually using a headband too, but a metal one not fabric. I really love this one and I'm glad you found it on etsy...I heart Etsy:lovestruc:rotfl:

Oooh love the dress, and the headband is just beautiful, can't wait to see the one she is making just for you.

I saw an inspiration board using yellows in one of my favorite wedding blogs and I thought of you, here is the link just in case you want a peek!

Thanks everyone!!! I really appreciate all the sweet comments - I'm even more excited about getting my headband and trying it on with my dress :lovestruc I put together a small inspiration "look" board for myself to make sure it all goes together (the dress, shoes, hair band, jewelry) and so far it looks really nice! But I'll wait to show everyone the finished package when it's all put together

I did get my Welcome Dinner dress yesterday in the mail. And I LOVE it! It's a really light material...the perfect summer cocktail dress. I'm really excited to wear it in a couple months.

I don't have any new wedding updates...just slowly getting more excited about Valentine's Day this weekend. Eric and I have always done something on Vday, whether it's making a new dinner together with wine at home, or going out to dinner just the two of us and maybe catching a movie. We're not huge into giving gifts, just spending some quality time together doing sometime we never have time to do ordinarily. This year we are going out with friends to a winery in the area that is hosting dinner and dancing (5-course meal paired with wines!). I'm SO excited! :cutie: I just love having a reason to get all dressed up to go out. I hope everyone else has a wonderful V-day
