He had a very progressive form of cancer. He was only a couple years younger than me. The thing I remember about Dave was his wonderful smile and sense of humor. Several years back there was a scandal in the city building. A secretary upstairs was found "in the act" with our then service director! Up until this time I noticed all the extra "perks" this gal had...flat screen monitor, leather chair at her desk, etc....Well, someone that orders the city's computer supplies went by my desk and saw how much room my old monitor was taking up on my desk and put me in for a flat screen monitor! Dave would come by my desk and say "Nice monitor! How did "we" get that? It was so funny, with the implication in the tone of his voice! Every time he talked about me it was, "Cindy, with the flat screen monitor"! He had finally gone to hospice on Monday. His wife was with him at the end so there's some consolation in knowing he was not alone. Please keep Dave's family in your prayers. He was an only child and the couple never had any children so I can only imagine the loss his parents are feeling. He was truly one of those people you consider yourself blessed to have had known.
