Okay, that's it...we're driving. I've dropped a million hints to my sister (who works for Jet Blue) about how we can't afford the airfare, but how we would love to fly, but she won't offer any of her buddy passes and I won't ask. We're both stubborn like that. I asked once during my last trip to Disney in '08 and she said she already had people lined up for them, so I vowed never to ask again. I've seen my cousins, aunts, etc. flying back and forth from Florida so I guess I know where her buddy passes went. I swear, if I EVER get a job with Southwest (I've been applying for years), I better not hear her ask me for a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g.
Ugh. Vent over.
Since we're driving, I refuse to get to Disney exhausted. We're going to have to pull the kids out for school one extra day. I really didn't want them missing more than a week, but what's one more day right?
Our plan is to leave Thursday the 9th at night and drive straight through to Savannah. According to freetrip.com, it's about a 13 hour drive from home. If we leave at 9:00 PM and drive through the night, with a few stops here and there (
Crocs outlet in NC will be one of those stops!), we should be in Savannah by 1 PM on Friday. I've already reserved a room in the Historic District. DH loves Savannah and is looking forward to seeing the city in its holiday glory. The drive from Savannah to Disney should be 5 hours tops (3 hours with the way we drive,

), so we'll be leaving the hotel by 7AM the latest. I have to call my step-father when we enter Florida because he will be meeting us so he can spend the day with the kids.
Hopefully we can get there around 11 and check-in. I'm hoping that our room will be ready so that DH and I get a nap in. I figure I'll unload the kids on Papa for a while, LOL

. We can meet him at DTD after resting up and eat a late lunch around 3 at Wolfgang Puck Express. We have an ADR for the Spirit of Aloha at 8 PM that night so we'll probably leave Papa around 5 to head back.
Sooo.....things to do:
1 - Get dog vaccinations updated for the kennel.
2 - Laundry

, laundry

, laundry

. I have most of the packing done, but have to get undies, socks, etc. together and a few odd graphic tees here and there.
3- Cook these leftovers and freeze them!!! I think I'll be making a quiche lorraine with leftover ham and turkey chili with the turkey. At least that will be 2 meals we can have when we get back.
4 -Oil change, wheel alignment, clean out the car and get it washed. Make sure I have enough washer fluid, etc.
5 -Buy toiletries. I hate taking my stuff that I use here and would rather buy smaller size things to bring with us.
6 -Pre-order our Photopass.
I'm sure I'll think of more

. My days will be busy until we leave.
Well...I'm off to wash some clothes! Yay! LOL
