We are very excited about our 180-day ADR date approaching in a few weeks. We are going for our 10-day honeymoon and we have opted for the DDP...food and relaxation being our main priorities. Here is what we have chosena nd we would LOVE your input.
Breakfasts: 1900 Park Fare, Ohana, Crystal Palace, Tusker House, Cape May Cafe
Lunches: Coral Reef, Liberty Tree Tavern, Sci-Fi, Yak and Yeti, Chefs d'France, Whispering Canyon
Dinners: California Grill, Jiko, Boma, Narcoosies, Flying Fish, Artists Point, Rose & Crown, Brown Derby, Le Cellier

We have been to Le Cellier, Chefs d'France, Crystal Palace, and Rose & Crown but the rest will be our first visit. Please tell us what you think! Thanks!

I'll respond to the ones we've done that you have not done before.

Breakfast at Ohana - wonderful food, fun atmosphere for kids but you don't need to be a kid to enjoy it. Our eggs were too salty for our taste, but when mentioned to our waitress they were replentished with a bowl full of nonsalted scrambled eggs.

Coral Reef - we've just had dinner there, not lunch. Both times food was excellent but their food portions are more normal size rather than the large portions served at so many locations throughout WDW. We've had both the fish of the day specials and the steak.

Boma dinner buffet - my favorite meal in May and another hit in December. I came home with a recipe and have gotten more off this site for dishes served there.

Artist Point - our favorite special dinner in December. Wonderful food, service and the best perks for celebrating a special occasion.

Enjoy your upcoming wedding and honeymoon!

Thanks so much for your help and comments. Are there any that we should consider adding or replacing?

Have you organized the meals by day yet? I would be interested in seeing how your days line up.

I will also respond to places I've been that you haven't.
B- 1900 PF- I loved the omelet station, but even more I LOVE strawberry soup!!!! Tusker- we were a bit disappointed in characters. They weren't real interactive when we were there.
L-Whispering Canyon is a Hoot! We liked Sci-Fi too, I had the pasta, yummy! We really liked Coral Reef, too! Steak is yummy!
D- Artist pt- It was good, I won't rush back though. They had champagne waiting on us, as we were celebrating our anniversary.

We were also celebrating our anniversary. Actually we were celebrating it at Disney a month before the actual date but our "Happy Anniversary" buttons were handed to us upon check-in at the BWI and 4 of the dinner restaurants did something special for us. In addition to the complimentary champagne at Artist Point they also comped their signature dessert, a berry crisp ala mode with a clip-on light up Tinkerbelle on my side of the dish and a clip-on light up red car (Lightening McQueen?) on my DH's side. My DH said his salmon was the best he had ever eaten. I ordered the scallops and they were good but nothing to rave about. But you've got to order the smoky portobello soup - it is the yummiest soup ever!

We also very much enjoyed the Yachtsman Steak House at the Yacht Club. We did not have time to fit in The Flying Fish. We did eat at Narcoosee's and they also began by presenting us with complimentary champagne. Their setting is great and we just walked out to the dock to watch the fireworks over the MK. But their food was not outstanding in our opinion.

Oh, and welcome to the disboards!

It sounds like you will be on the deluxe dining plan. What an adventure. I could never eat that much food.

We are going to roll home, rather than walk!

We are planning very early breakfasts, medium-sized early afternoon lunches, and late dinners.

CAN'T WAIT!!

We never get to go out to eat at home, so this will be a real treat!

Congratulations!! What a wonderful place to honeymoon, and you have some great meals lined up. California Grill is an amazing place to have a honeymoon dinner! Brown Derby and Coral Reef are also faves of ours, perfect for a honeymoon. The others we have been to that you are going to are fun choices, you will definitely enjoy. Cali grill though is by far a favorite of ours and I think will become one of yours. :yay:

1900 Park Fare - we will never go back here for any meal...the noise level is insane, the long wait is not worth it and the food is blech

Ohana - very good food, cute characters and you can get the pressed pot coffee from Kona

Crystal Palace - a favorite of ours, love getting in the park super early and the food is always great

Cape May Cafe - another favorite, huge fan of the bread pudding!

Coral Reef - we went for dinner and I enjoyed it but DH and the nieces didnt like it at all

Liberty Tree Tavern - we had lunch here in November and the food was excellent!

Sci-Fi - we have been here twice, the food is good but we stuck to burgers and the reuben

Yak and Yeti - entrees are good, didnt like the appies or desserts

Chefs d'France - love lunch here, the quiche is incredible

Whispering Canyon - ate here in Aug, no way will we go back, the food is terrible, fatty and very greasy

California Grill - unbelievable! Totally worth it, the pork tenderloin is WOW!

Jiko - loved our first meal here, not fond of it after that but the salads and the desserts were to die for

Boma - love breakfast, do not like the flavors of the dinner food at all but the bread pudding is super yummy

Flying Fish - I think this is our favorite signature....been here three times and it is always amazing

Le Cellier - very good food, never been disappointed here

If it were me, I would dump Chefs and Yak and Yeti lunches and pick up Cinderella's Royal Table breakfast. We really enjoyed it and found it a magical addition to our trip when it was just me and DH.

Another suggestion....you have sooooo many meals on one day, I would dump Chefs and Yak because they just aren't that good and pick up more signatures...Yak, Chefs, Le Cellier and Cape May are my least faves on your list and think they could go in favor of more signatures since you'll have the credits. Maybe even consider Hoop Dee Doo Revue...it is GREAT fun.

And finally, one last suggestion, go to Citricos instead of Narcoosee's. It's much better.

Oh wait, one last thing. If you in anyway could swing it, go to Victoria and Albert's. It is a fantastic way to start a honeymoon!!!

Sounds like you have a great trip planned! I love the lunch at Whispering Canyon their sausage & ribs are soooo yummy with extra bbq sauce! (I don't like chicken, but my DMom & DSis loved their chicken.) All of the other items on the lunch skillet are super tasty too- espcially the mashed potatoes & cornbread! Our server was a hoot & we really enjoyed exploring the Wilderness Lodge. You're also going to have an awesome time at Coral Reef. The atmposhere is really beautiful & very unique. Last, but not least, dinner at Boma was one of my fave Disney dinners ever. Their hummus trio (YUM!), soups, salads, sides, meats, & desserts are out-of-this-world! I haven't been able to squeeze a Boma dinner into my last few trips, but I definitely want to go there again in one of my next visits to WDW. I've enjoyed wonderful meals at Le Cellier & R&C, but since you've been to each I won't go on about those. I'm not sure if you're interested in this, but if you're in Magic Kingdom & want a snack, Friar's Nook had really yummy corn chowder a few weeks ago. We were able to get it for a snack credit & it came in a very cute insulated cup. Not sure if they still have the cups, but they're dishwasher safe & a nice little souvenier. (I just read your snack comments about Starring Rolls & I wanted to tell you that their strawberry muffin is really delicious & moist! I highly suggest it for a morning snack!) Have an awesome honeymoon!

Sounds like your plans are going to be great! I hope that you get everything you want and have a lovely honeymoon vacation!
:cool1:

I think you have some good choices. We enjoyed Crystal Palace and Whispering Canyon. Someone suggested Yachtsman and I think it would be a good choice for the two of you.

Thanks to you all!

Although V&A does sound great, the do not accept the dining plan. We will not be able to go there.

Also, we are not interested in CRT. We are going to wait until we have kids to do that one.

Thanks again!

Crystal Palace awesome. Tuskar House awesom. Sci Fi trust me get the burgers, onion rings, and milkshake they are da bomb (at least they are everytime I go. This place gets alot of bad reviews.) Coral Reef was terrible but that was 10 years ago, I think I'm going to try it again next trip. We stayed in the WL last trip and went to Whispering Canyon for breakfast twice just because it was soooo good, both times. We didn't do lunch or dinner there because we were either in a park, went somewhere else, or were just too tired.

A couple of places to try: If you like authentic Mexican, not TexMex, try San Angels Inn very romantic and I really love the food. Again this one gets alot of bad reviews. I think people are looking for the junk we call Mexican food and when they get it they don't like it, it's authentic.

Spirit of Aloha show: I thought the food was O.K. but the show is beautiful. They seat everyone at once and serve everyone at once, so the food is not steaming hot and it's just not great. Edible but not great. I plan on going again in the future, just not in the next couple of trips since there are so many places to eat.

Rainforest Cafe': If you don't have one in your town the atmosphere is really cool and I think the food is very yummy. I go every trip for lunch when I go to the Animal Kingdom.

Hope this helps some.

Crystal Palace - great food, great character interaction, great ambience..lots of fun
Coral Reef - haven't done lunce but have done dinner...food is good, not great but the ambience makes up for it. Since it is just the two of you, you will most likely get a table right by the tank...very cool
Yak and Yeti - tried it on a whim and it was one of the best meals of the trip. My suggestion, go with the steak and shrimp...awesome..eggrolls are the best I've had
Chefs d'France - have done dinner, food was ok but a little bland, however I think the lunch menu sounds better
Whispering Canyon - fun restaurant. food is good...but not fantastic. Lunch seems to be alittle quieter...less antics.
California Grill - must do every trip...sushi is fantastic...never had a bad meal here. Let them know you are celebrating and request a window seat.
Jiko - best meal ever....filet w/mac cheese was melt in your mouth awesome.
Boma - like it for breakfast and dinner...can't go wrong here...a little bit of everything...some different some normal.
Narcoosies - haven't made it there yet but is on our to do list
Flying Fish - same as above
Artists Point - another favorite...waitstaff is awesome..very relaxing meal...everything is good! If you are in a hurry..don't eat here though. Loved doing the wine pairings.
Brown Derby- always really enjoyed it here...not so much last time though. I think it may have just been a bad day but in general I really like this restaurant. Tends to be a little quieter than the other restaurants at HS.
Le Cellier- good but loud and crowded...don't expect and kind of privacy here.
Try the canadian unibroue...maudite is my fav!

Have fun!!!!

Have you ever been to 'Ohana for dinner? We ate there twice last month & in my mom's 30+ year of going to Disney, she swears that this was the best meal she's ever had there. If you like shrimp & steak (or pork or turkey) then you'll probably really like it. Plus, their dessert is divine!!! (And, we had a great time at the bar getting drinks too.)
