is a long ways away but I was wondering about the crowds, weather, etc. that time of year? We are going in Mar, but we have never been there to see it decorated for Christmas and I am sooooooo excited any advice?

There is NO place more magical and beautiful than Disney with all it's Christmas decor! I love it! And you will too!
I've been many times in December, but this year will be our first trip actually there AT Christmas. (We're going 18th-26th) If you're going prior to Christmas week, your crowds are very manageable. The week before Christmas, crowds increase dramatically every day approaching Christmas day. :crowded: One of the busiest weeks, if not the busiest week, at the World is the week between Christmas and New Years Day. But as long as you do your homework and go with a plan, you'll be fine.
As far as weather...it's Florida...and it can be crazy! I lived about an hour from Disney for many years and we had some Christmas Days in shorts and t-shirts, and some in heavy coats and gloves. You just don't know. And there's no predicting it even a couple of weeks ahead. More typically, it's chilly in the mornings and evenings (needing a coat and jeans for sure), but nice during the day. Short sleeved shirts usually OK. The main message for weather, is layer. Pack a little of everything, mix and match, and layer for the days.
Really watch the boards as people report on this years activities and you'll be armed and ready with your plan for next year. Have a GREAT time planning! :santa:

We were there from Dec 2-Dec 11 and stayed at Wilderness Lodge. The crowds were pretty scant and that included the Pop Warner kids. We attended MVMCP on Dec 4 and even those crowds were not bad. The weekends got pretty crowded but they were managable. It rained a couple of days but not very hard, just enough to wear ponchos. The days it rained we had MK scheduled and we went in spite of the rain and the park was virtually empty. Everything was a walk on including the 3 mountains and this was in the middle of the day! It warmed up to the low 80s during the day but was certainly jacket weather when the sun went down. Everything was beautifully decorated and the music was everywhere and so beautiful. Just remember that what is crowded to one person may not mean the same thing to another. I went once the week between Christmas and New Years and I will never go back during that time, I am old and my nerves can't take those crowds anymore :p I hope you have a wonderful time.

Oh my, are you in for a treat. We ONLY go in December. The weather is cool(cold
sometimes), it's GORGEOUS the way they decorate and since we usually go the 2nd
week in Dec. there's no crowds to speak of. Now, I think people are catching on to
this and there are more people going in December now. But there were times when
we were the only ones in our car on the monorail. We went on rides like Space Mt.
over and over again because we could get off, walk around and sail through to get
right back on. AWESOME. Seeing all the different Santas from the different countries
in World Showcase in EPCOT is great too. Their beautiful in their different red suits!
You'll just be in heaven. Truly. Enjoy it.

Its always great to be in Disney but being there for all the goings on in December is just so special. We can't even imagine going at another time of year now. There is so much more to see and enjoy. We've had warm weather and we've had kind of cold weather so just be prepared for anything. One year I brought a ton of things for the cold and never opened that suitcase up and another year I had everything I brought on and wished I had my fleece lined sweatsuit :rotfl2: The crowds were very manageable. I think everyone found out about it being a slow time though.

You are in for a huge treat.

We went Dec. 10th to the 17th last year. Crowds were low, weather was cool at night but not to the point of needing a coat, and the decorations and atmosphere were wonderful.
