This afternoon our faithful pet of almost 16 years passed away after suffering a 3rd stroke. I got a phone call from BIL at 2pm telling me he was very ill and I went out to see him (he has lived with MIL and co since he was 4 years old due to a lengthy gap between us selling one house and moving into another. We didn't think it fair to move him around all the time and he had constant company in FIL which suited everyone at the time). Unfortunately he died about 5 minutes before I arrived. FIL assured me that he passed away very quickly and I was thankful that at least I didn't have to get a vet to put him to sleep. I doubt if I could have coped with the thought of someone taking his life while I stood there knowing it was me who took the decision to end it, regardless of the reasons why! Anyhow, he is at peace now. There is a lot of sadness in our homes tonight because he was such a huge part of our lives, but he leaves us with many happy memories. He was a true character, and in my opinion he was unique among dogs, and we will miss him terribly. I'm closing this post with our favourite pic of him;
