Our 2nd Anniversary Trip or "I thought we weren't going back until we had kids?"

Hi everyone!

I decided to stop lurking and post my very first pre-trip report! We're about to go on an unexpected trip to WDW in less than two weeks! More on that in a bit!

I think I ought to introduce myself before all that. I'm Courtney. I'm a second grade teacher. I'm a bookworm, scrapbooker, and an optimist. I love animals, gardening, writing, and planning Disney trips. I love all things Disney and even included it at work. Our class motto last year was Keep Moving Forward! and it was amazing (and heartwarming) to hear the kiddos say it to a classmate that was having trouble grasping a new concept. I have plans to make it a yearlong theme this upcoming school year.

This is me and my DH John. He is my best friend and we have so much fun together. Our conversations are usually peppered with inside jokes and silly Disney quotes. He is the more serious and practical of the two of us and I'm the more impulsive and imaginative, so we make a pretty good match. The below picture looks like we're talented...but we really just had a good photographer.

This is Cookie, my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Cookie is not going to Disney with us, but she does have her reservations booked at the Cavalier Plantation. (DH says it is next door to the Dalmation Plantation) Really, she is just going to stay at the breeder's house where we got her and I know she will have a fun time playing with the pack of Cavaliers there. I will probably have a better time picking out a cute Disney collar for her.

All right, so here we go...the planning!


Backstory: A few weeks ago DH and I were trying to plan a last minute vacation to go someone inexpensive and romantic for our upcoming 2nd Anniversary. Unfortunately, the cost of plane tickets was incredibly expensive. A week ago I found cheap tickets to Orlando and DH said "Book them!" You don't have to tell me twice to do ANYTHING Disney related, so even though I was panicking because we didn't have anything else planned! I am a planner!!

I decided on four nights at Port Orleans French Quarter (7/24-7/28) and I couldn't resist calling the vacation planners. They are so much more fun to talk to than booking it online. I got a great CM and we had the best conversation! We were even talking about the different pictures we had on our Disney Visa cards! I was so giddy about getting to go to Disney last minute and unexpectedly. I have never stayed at POFQ before, but I have heard good things about it.

Another thing that is special about this trip is that we decided to start planning our family earlier this year. I know by saying it like that it sounds like we are going to have a brood of like 7 or 8 but....no. I mean we are planning for our one child. I am hoping that the pixie dust might give us a little extra luck (not had much of it so far!) and we can bring back a souveinir! I am so excited to move on to this next chapter of our life with DH. I think it would also be neat because he told me on my birthday trip to Disney last year in May that he was probably done with Disney until we had kids. Famous last words, right?! Maybe Tink will send us some baby dust along with pixie dust.

I'm planning to post lots of trip pics because DH loves to take pictures and I love to write!
