My husband and I are taking our first trip to England this month. We have a pretty good itinerary set, but we need some help with a nice, clean, moderately priced hotel or B&B in the Warwick/Strattford-on-Avon area and in Bath as well. Something close to the attractions, but no necessarily in town. I was hoping we could get some suggestions here. I've heard that some of the hotels and B&B's in Warwick have pubs in them that can get a little loud at night...we'd like to avoid them. Thanks in advance!

Hi Heidi

Just giving this a bump to see if anyone is in that area for you.

Thanks so much Johnny! These are great sites and the B&B's and guest house seem to be just what we're looking for (I honestly don't think either of us will want to leave once we catch sight of the English country-side!). We'll be in a basic hotel in London, so staying a nice out-of-the-way B&B or guest house in the country-side would be perfect!

You are welcome :)

While you're in the Stratford/Warwick area, if you have the time and you have a car, why not visit Warwick Castle and Kenilworth Castle? (if you like that type of thing?!) Kenilworth is not as touristy as Warwick, so it's not as crowded. Birmingham's great for shopping, there's a Sealife Centre and the Jewellery Quarter area to visit there as well. Have a nice time! :wave2:

Hi Heidi

We stayed in a lovely hotel in Stratford a couple of years ago, the Grosvenor Hotel: http://www.groshotelstratford.co.uk/

It was really handy for all the attractions, most of which are in walking distance - I don't think we used the car at all while we were there.

Hi

I'm not sure what availability will be like at such short notice, as many of the best value places book-up a good few months in advance.

I have heard good reviews for Paradise House Hotel - perfect if you like the countryside (and offering superb value-for-money rates) - and also The Bath Priory, which has an absolutely incredible restaurant (one of my all time favourites!) and beautiful gardens.

Good luck with your planning ~ I hope you have a wonderful trip!
