Our 1st trip as a family of three!----Update 11/3 Our Favorites/Trip Wrap-Up

I was the same way as your daughter when I was little. I had to survey a situation and decide whether or not it was something I wanted to do. I was apprehensive about things just like her. I like to consider it a sign of intelligence :rotfl: She is just too cute!!

Yay! An update!! I love the People Mover. It was closed last June when we were there, so I can't tell you the last time that we have gotten to ride it. I didn't realize that they had a new spiel.

We have never seen Spectromagic either. I think Dylan would really enjoy it because of all the lights. Your DD is so cute as she is waving to all the floats. :cutie:

Well, she looks happy in the stationary Dumbo. You are a better parent than I am, I would have made her go on! I made DS go on a kiddy rollercoaster over the weekend and he spent the whole ride yelling, "No! Make it stop! I don't like it!" Whoops. I showed him the picture I took of him on it and he said, "That ride was too fast for me."

I LOVE TTA. So very much. I could ride that ride for hours. I took DS on it to nurse and they let me just stay on for as many loops as I wanted...I could have stayed all afternoon I was so sad when he woke up!

Aw, I love the parades too. I'm glad she liked them!

Your DD looks adorable in the Dumbo :cutie:

I am also a fan of the TTA it's a great way to relax after a long day in the park!

I am glad everyone enjoyed Spectromagic I haven't seen it in a while and sort of miss it!

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your Disney adventures!

I love the TTA! I made them ride it a few more times that week. I'm so glad you guys are going to get to see Spectro on your next trip. Or will it still be the electrical parade when you go?

Update up next!

Looks like a great ending to your Magic Kingdom day! The Dumbo pictures are so cute and I agree with the Munchkin that Dumbo is much more fun sitting still on the ground

Maybe we'll get her in Dumbo the next time around. It was a great ending to our day!

I love the TTA too, but I am soooo not a fan of the new spiel - I miss all the fun little lines from the old one!

I know, it's not nearly as corny now. But we did get a glimpse of Space Mountain with the lights on during one of our many trips on the TTA this trip. Unfortunately, I wasn't prepared and didn't have my camera out. Darn!

Aw! She looks so cute sitting in the stationary Dumbo! :cutie: At least you don't ever have to worry about riding RnRC with her anytime soon! :)

She looks like she was having a blast at Spectro. I love the pic of her waving.

She was loving all parades that trip. You are going to have such a fantastic time with your little guy. I was thinking of you and your little guy while writing the next update.

I love the pics of her watching Spectro. So sweet! :cutie:

I don't know which parade she liked more. Spectro or the Move It Shake It one.

haha, that's a good way of looking at it. She definitely likes to know what is about to happen.

I know, it was closed in August. I was so bummed because it's a great way to just relax and cool down a bit. I'll say it again, I think that they would be great friends if we could get them together!

Your daughter is so cute.

Thank you! I think so!

Don't worry, you'll see in my next update that we made out little girl go on a ride while she was protesting. At least you were entertained while nursing your DS. What a perfect way to relax and snuggle with your little one.

Today was going to be our first full day at Disney, and we were starting it off with a character meal. :yay: Our little princess did not enjoy the characters quite so much during our August trip, so we were a little apprehensive about planning a lot of character meals. However, she LOVES the Little Einsteins so when we saw that Leo and June make an appearance at Hollywood and Vine, we booked an ADR for our first day. We figured this would be a good way to test out her reactions to characters and if it was a failure, we could adjust the rest of our vacation accordingly.

So it was off to DHS we went! We had reservations for 9:25 so our initial plan was to get there close to the park opening at 9am and grab some FP for TSM before heading over for breakfast. We had already seen the rope drop show here twice in August, so we weren’t too bummed about missing that. While we found this May trip to be more crowded than we expected, it still wasn’t as crowded as the end of August last year. We were able to get FPs easily for later that morning. Now it was time for breakfast! We were hungry!

Our little gal was so excited to see Leo and June that she couldn’t wait to get inside. In the photo you can see that she already has her autograph book open and ready. It was a book I had put together at home before we left so she was anxious to use it.

Once we managed to get her situated at the table, we had her first visitor.

ry%3D400

It was Goliath! We’ve never seen JoJo and Goliath before so we weren’t sure how she would react to the big lion. She was a little nervous around him but by the second or third round, she was all smiles.

We barely had time to get ourselves some food before we had our next friend stopping by.

ry%3D400

She was so happy talking to Leo, showing him her book and his picture.

ry%3D400

She even wanted to high five him (this picture is a little dark)!

ry%3D400

It was looking like she wasn’t so scared of the characters now. And before we knew it, we had our next friend stopping by. By this point, our little princess was ready to get out of her high chair and give them hugs.

ry%3D400

When she ran straight into June’s arms, I literally had tears in my eyes. This was what I had waited for. This is what the whole trip was about for me. Watching my daughter’s expressions of pure joy and happiness.

I have to say that this was a perfect first meal for us. It wasn’t crowded at all, because I don’t think it’s one of the bigger character meals. But that made it great. We got to see the characters more than once and the best part? They get to go up and dance with them!

ry%3D400

They do these cute little dance numbers every 15 minutes I think. And the kids are all invited to go up and join in. So needless to say, we have lots of video footage from this breakfast as well.

ry%3D400

Then it was back to eating and meeting some more friends. JoJo was the next to stop by our table.

ry%3D400

I was surprised by that reaction since JoJo is a little scary looking to me. Maybe it’s the whole clown thing. I’m not a fan of clowns and JoJo just reminds me of one. Then look who stopped by again?

ry%3D400

Completely different reaction from our munchkin this time!

She loved getting up to dance with them too. I think it was because then afterwards, she could do this….

ry%3D400

The cutest thing we kept seeing her do? She’d go over to Leo or June after the dance and say “come on! Come eat with me!” and wave them over to her table. She kept asking me if they were going to sit down and eat breakfast with her. Too cute.

Of course, he had to get in one last hug before we left.

ry%3D480

ry%3D400

I think that breakfast also lasted a bit longer than we intended. Mostly because she wanted to keep dancing and playing while we were there. The food was okay. It wasn’t the biggest selection, but I was fine with that since it’s just breakfast. Besides, we were there for the characters anyways.

We stopped to take a quick mother daughter picture on our way to TSM. My friend had lent me some shorts just so we could accomplish this particular outfit pairing…..

ry%3D400

All she asked was that I get a picture of our matching outfits. :goodvibes

On our way to Pixar Place, we stopped by the Playhouse Disney building and look who we ran into!

ry%3D400

Annie and Leo! You should have seen how excited she was to see Annie. Of course, that didn’t mean that she was going to snub Leo completely.

ry%3D400

Soon it was time to hug Annie.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

She kept asking for Quincy next, but he wasn’t out yet. So we told her we’d look for him later and started back on our way to Pixar Place.

But alas, we got sidetracked once again.

ry%3D400

Looks like the dogs got out!

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

She was having a fantastic time with the two of them

ry%3D400

until…..

ry%3D400

Pluto started sniffing at our little girl. Completely freaked her out. She went running in the opposite direction. Notice where she is standing in this picture?

ry%3D400

Then we finally made it to TSM. By this point, it was practically noon so our munchkin was getting a bit tired. So if anyone happened to be in line at TSM that Friday and saw an asian couple in line with a little girl crying, that was us. I kept thinking, should we just go? We look like we are torturing her and trying to force her on the ride. However, once she was on my lap and the ride got going, she was fine. She loved it our last trip, so we knew she would enjoy it again. In most cases, we don’t usually force her on something once she starts crying, but we knew this was more due to her being tired than fear.

Up next: Do we stay in the park with a cranky, tired toddler?

Great update! Even though the pics are absolutely adorable, this is my very favorite part of your post...

When she ran straight into June’s arms, I literally had tears in my eyes. This was what I had waited for. This is what the whole trip was about for me. Watching my daughter’s expressions of pure joy and happiness.

Completely sums up taking a child to Walt Disney World :goodvibes

I couldn't agree more. It just melts your heart & takes your breath away! :cloud9: Can't wait to get that feeling again in September.

So many characters! I love it! DH is a little worried that it would upset DS to see the little einsteins so big, since he thinks they're little kids like him. Probably not something to worry about, but DS is weird sometimes. :confused3 Either way, I was really excited to see that you saw them outside the playhouse disney building too! Your DD looks like she loves them so much, it's so cute!

It's not just you, because I'm not afraid of clowns in the slightest, and I LOVE JoJo's circus, but the big character JoJo FREAKS ME OUT. :scared: I think it's those sunken in eyes. Why aren't the on the outside of her head? She's claymation...her eyes should be on top of her face!

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your day. You seem like responsible parents, I think you'll take her back to the hotel or get her to nap somehow. We do not always make such good decisions when immersed in the disney magic...:rolleyes1

Loved your last 2 updates! Your daughter is so cute in the stationary Dumbo. The pics from your breakfast are just precious!!! I'm so glad she got to meet her favorite Little Einsteins.

Your daughter sure had a lot of fun meeting the Little Einstein characters - what a great morning! My GS doesn't watch them, as far as I know but I think he would still have fun. (he will be 3 when we go this year).

Loved your matching outfits! It's always great to see pics of the OP - somehow I missed seeing you in a few.

This picture is so cute!! I just wanted to let you know that I used to work with the young actress who does the voice of June and she looks like a 13 year old version of your daughter!

I'm back from the world and just saw your TR. All caught up. You kidlet is a babydoll. Wow what great interaction from all the characters. i agree it was very crowded a surprisse to me, but then I saw most were teens in the music program. Can't wait to read more about it.

Her reactions really were what made the whole trip for me. :cloud9:It's also what makes me want to bring her back. If only I had more money.....

Yeah, we weren't sure what to expect with any of the characters. So we actually made a few other last minute character meal ADRs the week before we left for Disney just in case she ended up having a good time. We figured if they completely freaked her out, we could just cancel the meals.

JoJo's eyes were definitely freaky. I hear they are replacing JoJo and Goliath with Handy Manny soon.

Thanks! I hope people don't get too bored with pics of her since that's pretty much all we have! :rotfl: Her and lot's of characters.

Loved the pictures. She looks so happy in them all.

Oh my goodness, she was in heaven! She was beyond happy. :cloud9:

I'm not in a lot of pics since I'm usually the one behind the camera. There are more in the PP cd, but I don't have that yet. I loved the matching outfits and had to wear them again later in the trip since we did laundry halfway through.

Oh wow, I love all the character pictures! So special. :goodvibes

There are so many more where those came from. Hope it won't get to boring and monotonous for people. I wasn't planning on writing a TR so I didn't take as many scenic pics.

This picture is so cute!! I just wanted to let you know that I used to work with the young actress who does the voice of June and she looks like a 13 year old version of your daughter!
Awwww, I was wondering for the longest time if June was supposed to be an asian girl. :confused3 That makes me so happy! It was a toss up between June and Annie for a while on who her fave is. She has a June toothbrush.

Hi and thanks for reading along! I was definitely surprised by the heat and the crowds this May. It wasn't this crowded when we went in May a few years ago.:confused3

Aw...I seriously had a grin on my face the entire time I read this update. I just love all the pics of your DD with all the characters at breakfast and after. I'm so glad she warmed up to them and was fine with them. I read that JoJo and Goliath are being replaced with Handy Manny. Do you know when that's supposed to happen? Hopefully before we go because the little guy loves Handy Manny! I just am anxious to see what he thinks of the characters. Will he be scared or will he love them? Who knows!?!

And I have to say, you and DD look adorable in those matching outfits. Very cute. :cutie: I bet she was excited to dress like Mommy.
