Monday Aug. 9th
Ok so this is the day that I've been looking forward to for 23 yrs. I get to walk into a WDW Park. I think we were all a little giddy. We get up at 7 and get ready to head out. We had a PS at Crystal Palace for 9:05. I htought this would be just the thing for our first day. We get to the park at 8:30, well I've gotten a lot of info on this board and I knew that since our PS was at the time of the park opening we could get in early. well FIL and DSM had to get their passes so Dh and I went in search of where to get in at. This is when we discover that we left DS's book and pen in the room, so of course DH freaks out because you this is supose to be the perfect trip
, he is out of his mind. Well we decide to buy a new one once we're inside. Well I ask a cm where we can enter at and ask when our PS is we tell her and she tells us oh you don't have to worry no one gets in early and the rope will drop early anyway. I knew this was wrong but said what the heck we would like to see the opening of Main St. anyway. This was great and DS loved it. Well the rope drops and we go in. We find FIl and DSm at the meeting place. They got in early. Well breakfats was great. The characters were wonderful and I loved the Puffy French Toast. DH has been raving about this since we met 6 yrs ago. So we leave breakfast and decide to go to advcenture land first. Oh how wrong we were. Things were fine at first, we went in the tree house and then DS and DSM rode Alladin. He was having a blast. Well we waited only a short time for the Jungle Boat ride. I got tons of pictures and we were having a great time. Then it happened, we went into the tunnel and saw the snake in the dark. DS FREAKED OUT. He has this thing about snakes in the dark. I think it may be because We live in the country and have killed snakes, so of course he thinks their bad and then he hates the dark and he has this thing where if its dark outside he will only step in the lighted parts or you have to carry him. I did not know about the tunnel or we would have never done it. Well that just about ended our day, because from then on he was mad and tired, We saw Alladin and Jasmin and got their autograghs. Then we decided to see the country bears. It was getting hot and everybody needed to cool off. DS would have nothing of it. The day was done for him. We walked to Fantasy land and then I saw the mistake we made. Fantasy land was packed. We got fast passes for Peter Pan I think and DS was crying and Whining the whole time, he wanted to do this and that but didn't want to wait in line.and frankly we didn't either. So at 12:30 we decided to leave and go swimming. Ds loved that idea. So back we went. I was just going to let DH and FIl take DS swimming and I was going to rest, mostly because dH and I fought almost the whole time we were in the park and I was really mad that he was acting like a jerk. Well when he found out that I wasn't going I got the fine we wont spend any of our vacation together speech. He reminds me so much of a woman its pathic,lol. We are soooo alike,lol. Well i say ok I'll be down in a min. I go down, have a great time. we come back and Ds and I crash. I tried to get DH to lay down but no his father and him were going to do guy things, IE sit by the pool and drink. We wake up and DSM isn't feeling well so we decide to go to dinner without her. Dinner that night was at Whispering Canyon Cafe. I was looking forward to this. I had thought the easiest way to get there was to go to the maqic kingdom and take the ferry to the Wilderness Lodge. Well the guys while was sleeping decided that that was no good since Ds had freaked out on a boat that morning. They decided to take a bus to DTD and then take another bus to the resort. Ok I said. Well we left an hour early and caught the first bus. Well we must have just missed the bus for the resort since we waited about 20 min. for the bus. Well by that time it had started to rain and it was lightining. So guess where the bus had to stop at. Typhoon lagoon, where everybody in that aprk was leaving. so we sat in traffic on a very packed bus. Our Ps was for 6:20 and we didn't get there till 6:50. So we were late for a pS again. Well DH's family is from NY and FIL can get very loud when something doesn't please him. Well we had to wait for a table. At first he was fine, he loved the look of the resort and was finding out all sort of info so that maybe next time he came he wwould stay there. Well then it got be just sitting there, it had only been about 15 min. Well then he starts in,"I'm going to talk to them and see whats taking so long". DH tells him no lets just wait a few min. Well them FIL starts to talk about how DH needs to learn to be more asertive. They got into it and DH ended up walking out. FIl told me to go with him, I was his wife and it was the right to do. I told him to hold on we'll be right back. Went out side and talked with DH, I told him he had 2 choices, we could leave and he be at odds with his father for a while or we could go back in and have a nice dinner since I was sure his father felt bad. Well we went back in. We had a great dinner, they got along fine and even sat by each other.This restaurant is Fanstastic. I loved it, it was everything I had hoped it would be.
