I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my 2 darlings dearly, but no way are they going on our anniversary trip with us. A line has to be drawn some where and that was mine.

Rewind the time....So dh and I sat in the living room with our laptops in hand. Somewhere between Facebook and Craigslist we started talking about our upcoming anniversary. It was not just any anniversary, but our 15th anniversary. We discussed the possibility of going to Pigeon Forge and renting a cabin just as we had done on our honeymoon, but we just went there over fall break. We discussed Vegas, but we really don't have that kind of money to just throw away. Cancun maybe...no way too expensive. Hmmmmm

Then he said three magical words, "How about Disney?". At that moment in time whether he knew it or not, there was a lightening strike in my head and the decision was final. No need to discuss any "other" places, we were going to Disney!!!

Over the next few days, sitters were arranged for our kids and our farm. We booked air through Allegiant for $170.00 total for the both of us out of Lexington, which is only a town away. It would be easy to get family to drop us off and pick us up. We booked Pop for about $80/night. I cashed out my Disney rewards points. Then I hit Disboards so I could do what I do best, overplan.

I spent weeks deciding what dining ressies I wanted. I knew that our time was short since we were only there from Sunday through Wednesday so as far as parks were concerned, I really only wanted to go to the Magic Kingdom. I finally landed on MVMCP for the night of the 7th. We had just gone to it last year, so I had really been there done that. Even had the t-shirt to prove it. I wanted to use that time to ride all the rides I could possibly cram into 8 hours.

To be continued......

All packed and ready to go, we left for the airport around 4:00 pm on December 5th. Our airport is smaller, so it took no time to get through TSA. Then we decided to grab an expensive bite to eat at Desha's (the only airport restaurant). We shared coconut rolled chicken and onion rings. DH loves Long Island iced tea, so he had one of those.

Everything went smooth when boarding. I had worried that we wouldn't be able to sit together since we didn't pay for priority boarding or the ability to pick our seats, but there was plenty of room left when we got on to choose a good seat and to sit together.

I took the window seat and dh took the aisle. We left on time and I was very pleased with my savings by booking Allegiant. The seats were leather and roomy. Everyone was pleasant and the jet was huge. I give them :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

After arriving at MCO, we hopped on the tram to the main building then we split up. DH grabbed luggage, and I grabbed the rental car. We pre-booked thru Expedia for Enterprise. No problems at all. We got a cute little 2011 Chevy with a little over 2,000 miles on it. We did our "once over" to make sure it was in tip top shape, plugged in the GPS and we were on our way.

It took forever for the GPS to get signal since you're in a parking garage, but once it picked up I already had Pop programmed in so it was no problem getting there.

We had completed online check-in, so it took no time at all. Once they saw it was our anniversary we were given buttons that said "Happy Anniversary 15 Ears" on them, 2 flowers and 4 balloons that said Happy Anniverary on them. It was really cute.

We had requested a room in the section we were in last year and we actually rec'd the room right next door. I had ordered a 2 tier mini cake with the white chocolate castle on top to be waiting when we arrived. As soon as I opened the door I knew that it was really warm in the room and I was afraid of what the cake would look like. Yep, I was right. The top tier was sliding bad and the whole thing was lopsided. I took a few pics of it to prove that it was warped when we arrived and then we took off to the food court to grab drinks.
