Howdy folks. We just completed our one day at universal and I thought I would come share our experiences .
we had a park to park ticket and we purchased express pass. I see a lot of folks asking if it’s worth it right now. All I have to say is we accomplished everythingwe wanted in both parks and could have gone back and did it again. With traveling from far away and having 1 day it was totallly worth it.
alright we took an Uber to universal from Disney. We had the Uber pick us up at 745. Official park opening for studios was 9am. We went to the will call printed our tickets and express pass and we’re about the 5th row back in line by 830. They started letting folks in about 845. We headed straight for diagon ally and straight to Ollivanders to sign up and we actually got there first before anyone else and so we got to go right in. So cool! We then went to gringotts. Again awesome. So by 930 we had done wand and gringotts. We then took time to explore all of diagon ally. Got some butter beer ice cream, took pictures with the knight bus, caught a puppet show for the deathly hollows. We then went to get other must for rides done in studios. That included rip ride rocket, jimmy fallon and transformers. Now this is the only bummer of the day. As a Disney goer I just didn’t realize how much the rides at universal used screens and 3D. By the 3rd ride like this it was staring to cause some discomfort for us.
so now the time is about 1030 and we decide to head to kings cross and take the train to hogsmead. So cool! Once off the train we put in a mobile order for 3 broomsticks.
I really feel they could have a better set up for 3 broomsticks. Why have mobile ordering if a waitress has to come to the table anyway and get your order number? And because I paid in the app and the waitress brings the food and condiments I didn’t have a way to tip her. Just felt clunky to me. However the fish and chips were really good!
After lunch we decided to go to Hagrids. Posted wait time was 60mins but we waited maybes 15. The line moved crazy fast. That is one amazing ride. We then did forbidden journey, hulk. And Jurassic park. By this time hubby was done with rides for the day. I went back for one more ride on Hagrids where again the posted wait was 60minutes but I only waited about 20.
we did some looking around shops and then left universal about 300pm. We were tired and had accomplished everything we wanted to! We got a milk shake and an appetizer from toothsome and ate inside. Again so good. The very last thing we did was grad some doughnuts from voo doo doughnut. I will say voodoo was the worst when it came to social distancing and crowding. It was busy and packed in there.
mask compliance was very good all around and people really followed the social distancing markers.
It was a great day. Express pass was totally worth it for us.
