Otterbox question

I have an Otterbox Defender for my iPhone. Lately, the outside rubber part is stretching. Especially at the bottom. Has anyone experienced this? Is there a way to fix it? Or, do I need to contact Otterbox? Thank you!

I agree, I have an Otterbox Defender on my iPhone. It developed a slight tear by the charging flap. I went on-line, took three photos of my case, and they fully replaced it at no charge to me. Check it out, the instructions are there, no need for you to try to repair it.

Contact them, they will send you a new one, for free, no questions asked. They are a great company with fantastic customer service! I've never had to send them pictures or go online. All I did was call. They didn't even want the damaged one back.

This is good to know since I had another otterbox for my iPhone 4s and it tore from using it so much. Now I got a new phone with an otterbox and lifepoof case. I will keep this in mind.

I second all the PP's. Fantastic customer service! I called them to see about buying a new rubber cover and they insisted on sending a whole new case even though I'd had it for 2-3 years. They just wanted a pic of the damage and the codes to make sure it wasn't a counterfeit case.

They are absolutely wonderful! That's why I continue to do business with them! My son broke his hard plastic back to his iPad case and they sent me TWO in case it happened again! Top notch company!!

Yes they replace them, but the quality stinks. I went through 3 Otter Boxes in a year. The rubber stretches & rips way too easily.

I have had 4 otterboxes replaced so far.

One for the ipad
Two for the iphone
One for the ipod touch

I currently have two otterboxes wearing out, but I think honestly I am ready to find another company that protects as well but doesn't have the issues.

The rubber wears out AND lately the last 3 screen protectors have scratched terribly.

Wow I'm surprised at all the issues people are having with Otterbox. I have had the same defender on my iphone since Verizon got the iPhone, 2+ years ago, and it is still going strong. (sometimes I secretly wish it would die so I could change the color ) My DS also has one on his ipod and has also never had an issue. It is great they stand behind their products.

Mine is stretching ,too. Never thought to contact otterbox. Once again folks on the DIS boards have provided some good advise.

Thanks for the info! My kids dropped my iPad, fortunately the iPad itself was fine, but the cover cracked. I sent them a photo and they're sending me a new one.

Wow! So glad I saw this! Mine had chipped corners on the hard plastic and the rubber tore - I thought I was out of luck and would have to replace it on my own dime. I just got off the phone with them and they are sending me a new one free of charge as soon as i get my photos of the damage to them. Thank you!

Thanks! Dis Boards rock! I filled out the warranty info and they are sending me a replacement silicone sleeve! Mine is getting chewed up by the belt clip and I was thinking about trying to buy just the outside piece. It was a quick, easy process. Amazing customer service. This is now more money for me to spend at Disney.

Mine too. I was surprised to see that the rubber is tearing on one of them. For $30-something it should last.
