Otterbox on Ebay?

:rotfl2:

The funny thing is, I told them they could just send me the RUBBER portion as the plastic has held up just fine, but they don't offer that option.

At one time otterbox mentioned starting to sell the plastic in black and offer different rubber covers so you could change just the rubber part out and have different colors for different occasions.

They never did do that though.

The replacement Otterbox sent me is having an issue as well. Maybe they sent me a counterfeit? :)

I think they provide great protection but the rubber flaps do not hold up for me.

All 3 are Apple products.

iphone 4, ipod touch, and ipad 2.

The ipad 2 and iphone 4 otterboxes have been replaced. Now I need an ipod touch case replaced.

All have been purchased on Amazon through actual Amazon, not sellers who sell through Amazon. All have been labeled by Amazon as official Otterboxes.

Otterbox has had no problem replacing them.

Sorry you are having such issues.

We have 2 iPhone 5 cases, 1 iPod and 1 iPad case and no issues. Also have a Blackberry Defender and Commuter cases as well.

We have Defender cases which have the multilayer protection with screen covers. All purchased from our major Canadian cell carriers and Best Buy Mobile.

Good luck in getting this worked out!

Between DH and I were have three Otterbox iPhone cases, two directly from Otterbox and one via Amazon. The amazon one is lighter, doesn't fit as snug and is starting to tear. It came in Otterbox packaging also. Packaging means nothing. We bought the amazon one weeks before the two we bought at Otterbox, we learned our lesson!

Took pictures and sent them to Otterbox. They have already processed my request and new one/replacement will go out tomorrow.

My DD10 uses the LifeProof case for her iPhone. We found out the hard way that the Otterbox doesn't protect from an accidental toilet dropping. I use a case with an extra battery. I use my iPhone too much each day.

New Otters were just introduced at the CES (Electronics Show) and they are waterproof. Check out their website for more details.

Hope OP finds all of this info helpful!

Wow, didn't realize there were so many fakes!
I ordered a Griffin Survivor case from Amazon, and got it for a great deal. It was from Amazon itself, and think its because it was for the 4th gen IPOD. It is amazing!

We have 2 Otterboxes that we ordered from Amazon. They are defenders for our dd's Ipods. Havent had any problems with them. Sure hope they are authentic.
My oldest dd bought an Otterbox at Walmart for her Iphone. No problems with that one either.
A friend at church was just telling me last week that she had bought her DS a Lifeproof case for his phone for Christmas from Amazon. It has broken and she contacted Lifeproof and they said hers was a fake. She was shocked...not sure if she was able to get anything done about it or not. I told her to report the seller to Amazon.

I bought our LifeProof from Best Buy. We had an issue not long after buying it where my daughter broke the little door for the charging port. LifeProof sent us a back cover, no charge.

We will check into the Otterbox that is waterproof in the future when she next upgrades.

I bought an otterbox defender at Walmart when i got my apple 4s. It survived a toilet drop (yuck!!). I was so surprised!

My SIL on the other hand had a life lock on her iPhone and it got ruined on a flume ride, where it was not even submerged. It was funny when she called life lock about their warranty. Their warranty is to give you another case. LOL. She didn't have a phone to put the case on!! Haha.

This thread reminds me that I need to buy a new otterbox. I have cracked the plastic and my DD has torn the rubber a bit. Better do it before my next mishap!!

Otterbox is very good about replacing their products. Usually you just have to take a picture of the damage and email it to them and they'll send you a new one. I think the warranty period is a year.

Our first ipod case was pretty good. It lasted two years with only minor rips.

We sold that ipod with the case and got a new one and a new Otterbox. This second one has been awful. It is clearly made differently.

My husband's iphone 5 case has held up pretty well so far, but he isn't hard on them like the kids and I tend to be.
