Other ways to change reservation (since I can't get Dis on phone)

Because of the spring discounts just being announced I can't manage to get Disney on the phone at all to change my trip and take advantage of the savings.

I'm afraid the deals for my already room (Beach Club, CL) are going to sell out.

Would it be worth booking again (with the discount) and then calling to cancel the first reservation?

(I wouldn't lose any dinning ressies, right?) I don't think this isn't some thing that the Itinerary planning office can help me with. I've paid the $200 deposit, but that's it.

The savings are enough for a whole other trip (and my son asked if we can go during the holidays sometime) so I'd really like to get the discount!!

You can definitely do that. I booked 3 reservations for our upcoming trip in Feb since I didn't know which package/hotel we wanted to for sure stay at. Just make sure you cancel before the 45 days if I remember correctly so you can get the $200 back. It definitely won't affect your dining.
