We are frequent visitors and are going again in late July. We want to spend several days doing non-park things. Can anyone suggest their favorites? So far we have thought of going to Fort Wilderness and riding the horses. Period. Any help would be appreciated.

If it's any help, we are staying at Pop Century for 8 nights and will have a car available.

Do you play golf? Disney has incredible golf course (and a more family friendly walking course.)

Prefer to putt? Go play mini-golf at Fantasia Gardens or Winter/Summerland

Explore your resort and other resorts

A day by the pool with a book and little umbrella drink

Rent water mice (ok, sea raycers) and explore the Seven Seas lagoon

Go to Beaches & Cream (at the BC) and try the Kitchen Sink. Not that hungry? The No Way Jose is my favorite dessert on Disney property

Fort Wilderness has a campfire and movie in the evenings. We like to spend some time at the Boardwalk in the evening. It has a great atmosphere, and there are carnival games and wonderful street performers. Visit one of the MK resorts to watch the Electrical Water Pageant.

My kids are really looking forward to our "mini golf day" in September. After you play any one course, the otehr courses on property are half price for you that same day. So, we are playing all of them in one day We will go to Santa's Winter Summerland in the a.m., have lunch at Whispering Canyon Cafe, swim in the afternoon and then hit Fantasia GArdens in the evening.

Also try:
Visit the other resorts. It is fun to check out the themeing at the other resorts. A few things to do while there are:
*hiden Mickeys, geyser adn sit in front of the fire place with a drink at Wilderness Lodge.
*hotel tour (call for the schedule--it is free) and tea at the Grand Floridian.
*Watch the Electric Water Pageant from the shore at the Poly
*Roast marshmellows and the see the outoor movie at Ft Wilderness
* play in the splash fountains at the All Stars and Pop
