Other things to do when it rains heavily all day?

My visit in June will be my tenth time at WDW. I'm a true lover of the whole experience. I always have my poncho and travel umbrella in my carrier especially brought with WDW in mind. When it rains, I am the first one to put on the poncho open up the umbrella, if it's not windy, and keep going. My sister who has to use a scooter actually has an extra large poncho that fits over herself and the scooter, so that it doesn't get wet, and she can keep going with everyone else. However, this time my roommate is going with me and while she too doesn't mind putting on the poncho and going for it we have decided to call this trip to WDW "Our Low Key WDW Trip'" (try to figure that out...lol), so we decided that if it rains heavily for most of the day and we don't feel like continuing in the parks in the rain we would do other things. We know about the movie theatre and Cirque Du Soleil at DD, the afternoon tea at GF, and we already have our spa appointments at GF. I think we have thought of everything but just want to make sure we aren't forgetting something. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks
Laurel

My wife and I have always enjoyed going to the Polynesian and sitting in the bar that's between Ohana and the lobby area. They serve appetisers and a lot of interesting tropical drinks (the "backscratcher" comes with a real backscratcher as a swizzle stick; there's one in a hollowed out coconut shell, etc.), and there's usually a Hawaiian guy playing the ukelele. It's a great place to meet other Disney guests and people watch; perfect for a rainy day, or a low-key evening after the parks.

Thanks, Rejobako! I would have never thought about doing that but it's a great idea...I will add that to the list! DD shopping is fun but I wish I could go from store to store without getting wet...lol.

+If you stay on the monorail line you can go from store to store without getting wet- eg. Contemporary, Poly and GF. Also you may want to go to Disney Quest. We were there for 5 1/2 hours the last time.

Walking in the rain with the one I love, makes me feel fine.;)

One trip that I took with my family must have been during the rainy season because I spent more time in a poncho during that week than the rest of my life combined.

Anyway, don the ponchos and carry on little trooper!

I have a great picture of my dad (yes dad) and two brother (high school aged mind you) piled into some some rocket shp thing that must have been outside in Tomorrowland somewhere. It's a great shot and I think it was taken at that point where we were all just a little crazier than normal because of the rain. Which is an ok thing. :)

Jordgubben, I keep telling myself that I'm not going to push myself this trip but the spreadsheet keeps growing and I keep adding on rides that I had previously told myself I could skip this trip:earsgirl:so more than likely most days I will probably put the poncho on as I usual and keep going. I like bringing newbies with me and for my June 2000 trip I brought a friend along with her DS15 and DM70. I had warned them that it would most likely rain and that they should be prepared to put their poncho on and to keep going. The first day we were at the MK and it started raining, of course I pull out my poncho and travel umbrella ready to keep going and turn around only to hear them tell me that since it was sunny they left everything in their hotel room:mad:  It rained heavily for the rest of our trip but they remembered their rain gear and they enjoyed the Disney experience. Needless to say though, from that day forward when I bring newbies with me, I do a check for all the essentials before we leave the hotel room. :sunny:
