We are staying for a month in the Fall and besides Disney and Universal and maybe SeaWorld here is a list of things we are considering and have never done before. Does anyone have any comments and/or suggestions? Thanks.

1. Fantasy of Flight – Polk City
2. Legoland /Cypress Gardens (went ages ago)
3. Gatorland
4. Titanic (saw in Las Vegas)
5. Tampa Aquarium

We have done Gatorland, the Titanic Experience, and an airboat ride (through Wild Willy's in St. Cloud, though, and not via Boggy Creek). We are planning on visiting the Florida Aquarium in Tampa on our trip at the end of August.

Gatorland and an airboat ride make a great combo day (they are both half-day activities). You can see lots of photos and write ups on both in my December trip report. Click on the link in my signature and if you want to skip right to our Gator Day, begin reading at page 4, post 60. We had a great time at both and would highly recommend each :thumbsup2 . The airboat ride, especially, was one of the highlights of our vacation. A really unique and fun time, and the staff at Wild Willy's were awesome.

We are a trio of history buffs, so we enjoyed Titanic very much. We visited last August and it was a great place to spend a hot and sticky summer afternoon. That said, it is not a place I'd take kids under 10 (I just don't think they'd be that into it) and find a discount if you can.....its really expensive (for what you get.....it takes up a couple of hours at most) if you pay full price. I have a buy one admission, get one free coupon from the 2013 entertainment book if you are interested. I could mail it out if you PM me your address.

For that matter, I could also send you an entertainment book coupon for Gatorland. I think I have a 50% off admission one in there. Or a BOGO....not sure which.

The Florida Aquarium looks like fun, but we are big marine life enthusiasts. Our plans (which, of course, are subject to change :rolleyes2) are to do both the aquarium and the dolphin boat tour. Probably nearer to the beginning of our trip, so maybe the 25th or 26th of August. You'll have to "stay tuned" until my next trip report :) .

Thanks for the coupon offer - I already have a coupon and I can get military tickets for most of these at reduced rates - at least I don't need to pay the taxes. That's a good thing. US Army retired!

Ah well, it was worth asking :) .

Hopefully some other folks will be able to chime in with feedback on some of the other attractions you are considering.

The Lakeridge Winery in Clermont (north on 27) has nice tours and sampling. Many of the weekends feature free live entertainment.

Kennedy Space Center is cool. We did a tour too where they take you out to a lot of the lift off sites (now all closed) but it was cool to get up close to them.

Plus if you have the time to drive out somewhere, I would do a day at the beach around that area.

We've been there before. Thanks.

This is one we will probably do.

We are here now. Family loved Gatorland and Indian Rocks Beach. Wild Wiilys is on tap for next week.

We've done Gatorland/Boggy Creek and agree it's a great 6-8 hours of entertainment. Coolest thing we have done would be the Giraffe Ranch in Dade City, as well as Snorkel with Manatees at Crystal River.
