Well the transportation options are a big part of what makes the Polynesian great but I will have to agree that the room size is a big deal for most, the beach area is a big reason the resort is so well loved. We spent our engagement, honeymoon, and first anniversary at the Polynesian as well as we use to go from June 30- July 11 to be there for my birthday, and the 4th of July and it is the only trip that has kept me from going back to Hawaii every year. I grew up spending most of my summers as a kid with friends that live in Maui and we still return to Maui most years and staying at the Polynesian gives me that feel of both Hawaii and WDW. I dont get the feeling of fake at all considering all they use in the construction of the resort was real materials from many islands and even had designers from the Kaanapali beach resort redecorate the place in the mid 90s.
We love the walks along the beach and being able to walk down to the wedding pavilion or the GF and the fireworks from our patio. We just love the atmosphere of the Polynesian that much better.
