Other Than Home First Visit?

Is ok to use something other than home resort fo0r our first dvc visit in Decenebr. We belong to SSR and want into the beach club on value season Dec 1-14 if available??? Is it o.k. to use another resort the first visit... and how do I put a picture under my log in name or a trip countdown ticker. Or a list of abbreviations?

Welcome to the Dis!

You can book anywhere you want where there is availability. Those dates might be tough though since that's the most popular time for DVC'ers to go. Alot of people call right at the 11 month mark to get ressies at there home resorts. Since BCV is not your home resort, you would have to wait until the 7 month point to call. You may want to get ressies at SSR for now and see if you can switch over at 7 months.

By OK, do you mean "within the rules?" Or do you mean "good manners?" Either way, it's definitely OK.

It is definitely allowable. We've been members for 22 months and haven't made it to our BWV home yet. (We meant to get there last September, but Hurrican Frances cancelled those plans.)

Our first vacation on points was to HHI. Currently, we're counting down to a DL stay on points before our cruise that was partially funded by a point rental. In August we're using the Concierge Collection to stay at Big Cedar Lodge. Plus, my in-laws will stay at the BWV before us cuz that will be their Xmas present.

So that makes 5 vacations before we can get ourselves to our home resort.

All of our reservations were made easily and without any concern over whether it's our first visit or our home resort. Gotta love the DVC!

We are taking our first DVC trip in a couple of weeks and not going home! I love the feel of OKW so I decided to book us there for our first trip even though we are SSR owners.

Our second trip will be in Dec at SSR. Going to get a one bedroom and probably be spoiled and never want to return to a studio again!

We just joined this month and don't receive our points until Aug, but our first trip will be to BWV in September. Our home is SSR. We will visit SSR for the first time in October.
