Other than Castle or fireworks, do you care what view your room has?

On non-park days and/or days when we're traveling with either our very young grandchildren or with my elderly mother, we usually spend some time midday in our room and on our balcony. So a really nice view is a definite plus. We routinely ask for an upper floor so we've never had to look straight out at parked cars or had people walking right next to our patio. If it's a bad view, it's disappointing but not that big of a deal.

OTOH, we've asked to be moved if we've had a balcony next to a designated smoking area or other offensively smelly area, as well as when our patio/balcony could not be used at all because shrubbery or trees had literally become so overgrown that the greenery was on/in the sitting area. We've been fortunate that those requests were accommodated.

I need a balcony. If the deluxe resorts are too expensive I will stay at DS with a DS or Epcot view

Typically I have not paid extra for a view; however, next trip getting a savanna view because its a resort day so I see the worth. Once got upgraded to coronado springs tower and had a water view. That tower is totally worth it itself compared to the other rooms but that view was amazing!

I like having a water view at the Crescent Lake resorts, especially Boardwalk. Taking a few minutes to look out across the lake at different times of the day really gives us that "wow, I can't believe we're here" feeling. And it's good for people watching, boat watching, or to sit and appreciate the moment.

Having a savanna view room at AKL is good for random animal spotting moments. Waking up and going outside to see if there's any activity. Taking a moment to check again while getting ready. taking another moment before heading out. and then coming back later in the day to see what's going on out there. It's nice. It's something you don't get every day, so I want to appreciate it while I'm there. I also excitedly whisper hellos to the giraffes, or add my own commentary about what's going on in the savannah. "ope, see that herd waking by back there? they just clocked in." :rotfl:
