The toilet seat gluing thread got me thinking about the ladies room and the strange things that go on in there.

Have you ever seen anyone brushing their teeth in a public restroom? Would you do it? I've seen this happen a few times and I have to say it really grosses me out. I have a thing about brushing teeth anyway. It actaully makes me gag to see other people doing it, and if I think about it, I can also cause myself to gag while brushing my own teeth. I know, my problem, but I still don't care to see anyone brushing their teeth in a public restroom.

I've seen a lady go into a stall, leave the door WIDE OPEN, and proceed to pee.

I once saw a women go into the ladies room, take off her shirt AND bra, and put on a different shirt. She didn't go into a stall, either. She stood right in front of the sinks and looked at herself in the mirror.

Any strange things you've witnessed?

Don't know...last time I was in the ladies room I was escorted out rather rudely.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Consider yourself lucky. It can be a pretty nasty place to visit!

I haven't had Herc's experience -- YET. But I do know of a co-worker who brushes her teeth in the ladies room on our floor. She's sort of retentive about brushing and flossing after every meal.

I can understand brushing teeth at an airport or even in a work situation. In an airport a person could have been traveling all day (or night) and they really need to brush their teeth. In a work situation it can be best for all involved if someone brushes their teeth, especially if they've eaten something to give them bad breathe or if food gets stuck in their teeth easily. But other than these circumstances I don't get it.

I can't think of anything too strange that I've seen.

I've drove across the country before and stopped to brush my teeth at a rest station bathroom. I've also brushed my teeth at a public campground restroom while camping before. I guess that's sort of expected though.

It may be a little out of place, but I don't think brushing your teeth at work or at a McDonald's is any more gross than brushing at the campground bathroom.

I brush my teeth in the restroom at work every day, after lunch. I never for a second would have thought that it might gross people out. :confused3

:confused3 It is better than hovering and getting tinkle all over the seat :confused3

If you ever want 'interesting' go to a club with uni-sex bathrooms.

If the stalls are a rockin'.....there's probably Panther's cheerleaders in 'em. :rotfl:

ditto

unless they are rinsing/spittnig in the toilet.

heheheh

When I had braces, I would brush my teeth after every meal - and if that meant I had to brush my teeth in a restaurant bathroom, well, that's where I did it.

The strangest thing I ever encountered in a public restroom was a woman who offered to hold my (then infant) daughter while I used the stall. I actually said "Are you crazy? I don't even know you!"

My grammy brushed her teeth in the bathroom of a restaraunt when we were with her once. We had been without power for days, and when we lose power we lose water (we have a well). She wanted all of us too, but I just decided to skip on that (I was probably 10 and school was out because of the power/road problems). I guess if I hadn't seen a situation where that was necessary I might think it was wierd, but now that I've seen it, when I do see someone brushing their teeth in a public restroom I figure they've got a good reason.

They got fired. :earseek:

The teeth brushing thing isn't mutually exclusive to women's bathrooms. I've seen plenty of men brushing their teeth as well at work. Never thought it was something gross, though. :confused3

We have women that brush their teeth after their meal at work...it kinda grosses me out to see them spitting in the sink next to where I'm washing my hands...but I can see the reason why. I once saw a woman brush her teeth in the bathroom at the Casino...it was pretty early in the morning, maybe 9am or so, so I figured she was there all night and needed to refresh her breath! Still gross though, I don't even like to see my own family members brush their teeth!

I can deal with it as long as they spit into running water, rinse the sink, and don't get gunk all over the mirror, etc. The thing I don't like to see even family members do is to floss their teeth. Pieces of food are easily flicked even when being careful and I don't want to see someone elses plaque (don't really want to see my own, but can't do anything about that :teeth: ). I guess we all have our issues. :rotfl:

I can understand it in these situations, although it still grosses me out!! And I'm not a camper so I never really thought about people brushing their teeth in campground restrooms. And if it's a one person bathroom, no one will see them anyway.

But, I've been in restrooms in the mall and had someone brushing and spitting right next to me while I washed my hands.

There is a new product on the market. They are small rubber/plastic? pieces that fit over your finger and are for people brushing on the go. I'm not sure how effective they are or if they have any type of toothpaste in them.

Okay, I have to admit this bothers me, too. Probably even worse than the brushing.

I'm going to go gag now!! :teeth:

LOL I'm actually relieved to know that I am not the only one with issues in this department.
