Are you into museums and pretty stuff? Or shopping? The Charles Hosmer Morse museum in Winter Park has what must be one of the largest collections of Tiffany stuff around, up to and including the chapel Tiffany did for the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago (the "White City" fair). It was around $5/person when we went. And it's right by Park Avenue, which has a bunch of shops and restaurants to wander.
There are also boat tours in Winter Park that I've seen positively reviewed, both here and on Trip Advisor, and there's the Albin Polasek Gardens and museum. Don't remember the prices on those but both were under $20 IIRC.
Closer to WDW than Winter Park, there's the Leu Gardens, which often offer a free day (or partial day -- Monday mornings, it was when we went last).
If that all sounds a bit slow to you, Gatorland gets pretty good reviews. I think that's around $20/day, although I don't know if that price includes the new zipline thingie. There's also Old Town Kissimmee, which is kind of a permanent carnival and shopping center, that has weekly car shows/Cruise Ins, and tons of stuff up and down International Drive (mostly touristy chains like Ripleys and Titanic and stuff, but the Titanic Experience is worth doing once if you haven't, unless you saw the similar touring exhibit at a local museum).
