Other " go all out" people?

You all are terrible enablers! We're flying in from Missouri for our first trip in 3 years and this will likely be our last disney trip for a long time. I usually try to practice some sort of restraint especially with a family of 5 but you're making it hard.

Living in NorCal, I've been going to Disneyland all my life. I think I was 6 months old for my 1st trip. I come from a very Disney oriented family. I was just there this past November with family and will be there again in just over 2 weeks with my BFF.

I normally either stay down the street at a Marriott or Hilton brand hotel, but this time decided to do a split hotel stay with half the time on property and the other half across the street. Staying at DLH and GCH has been on my bucket list for years, so I finally decided to do it.

Also doing MSEP dining package, and WOC dessert party, Tomorrowland Skylounge, and Fantasmic dining package at Hungry Bear. Although I might do RBT and upgrade to standard package. All the dining packages are surprises for my BFF. She is treating me to a massage of my choice at the Tenya Spa while were staying at the GCH.

It'll be an expensive trip, but to me all the memories are worth it!

I thought I’d share a sad story. When I was 10, my sister had been waiting for a kidney transplant awhile. She had a decline in health and was given months to live. My mom decided my dad should take me and my other siblings to DL. I don’t know why, she doesn’t know why, her mental health wasn’t good. So we went on a trip we couldn’t afford while my sister and mom stayed home. We had no money and my dad cried all night in the hotel. I remember being in the parks and being hungry because we had a budget for like one hot dog a day. It was so awful. We just wanted my sister and mom there.
when my sister got her transplant, we went again, all together, about 2 years later! My parents cashed in savings and went all out. Best trip ever! Then 25 years later we went again with my daughter and all my siblings. We knew my one sister was declining again. I shared the story of how it was her first trip back since her celebration transplant trip and they decorated her room, left a cake, etc. Disney made it amazing. I’m so happy my sister and daughter have those pics and memories together at Disney. It’s bittersweet. My daughter will say, remember when we went to Disney and Aunty Megan could walk!

We're a park open to park close family of 5. On our last trip to Disneyland, we fit in 21 rides\attraction in one day from rope drop to closing out the park. We could have done more but I purposely scheduled afternoon breaks at locations that provided air conditioning or shade to escape the mid afternoon blazing July sun. We also slowed down a bit in the afternoon as the wife and kids got a bid tired and took more breaks.

Attractions we passed on because of either timing, ride closures or family members not wanting to ride...
1) Disneyland Train - We really wanted to fit it in but timing was never right. Right after 10am, our originally planned time, the wait time never dropped below 45 minutes for the entire day
2) Space Mountain - No one else in my family wanted to ride it. I thought about doing single rider but opted to do more family attraction to spend time together
3) Matterhorn - Same as above. Considered doing single rider but opted to go with my kids to Autopia and Buzz Lightyear instead
4) Snow White, 5) Peter Pan, 6) Mr Toad, 7) Alice in Wonderland, 8) Mad Tea Party, 9) Dumbo, 10) Casey Jr Train, 11) Carrousel and 12) Storybook Canal Boats - Never got timing right and without Fastpass/Genie+ available at that time, we weren't going to wait 45+ minutes for any of those FantasyLand rides
13) Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage - Closed that day
14) Monorail - Closed that day
15) Astro Orbitor - Never got the timing right with the wait times and we skipped it
16) Tom Sawyer Island, 17) Mark Twain Riverboat, 18) Sailing Ship Columbia, 19) Davy Crockett's Canoes, 20) Tiki Room - We decided to skip all these to have enough time to do all the rides the kids wanted to get done

If I ever do a solo trip, I do have a bucket list to do EVERY attraction\ride at Disneyland in one day! Something like doing rope drop and staying on a day that closes late like midnight or so. Then hoping that while I do the non-Genie+ rides, that I'll be able to go fishing for LL passes on rides that are broken down.

LOL....no breaks for me on that day, I got a goal to meet! :)
