Other food at the Hoop-Dee-Do??? Picky Kids?? Veggie??

I would really like to try the Hoop-Dee-Do Review and am perfectly happy with the food they will be serving, however the rest of my family is not. My DH is a vegetarian and my two DD's, well, lets just say they like cheese.

Does anyone know what they may serve to an adult vegetarian??
How about kids that don't like the chicken and ribs? Are the servers willing/happy to make these substitutions??

I have never seen anything on any tables other than the chicken, ribs, corn, bread and salad but that's not to say they don't (after all this is Disney). Your best bet is to call and find out what they would do. I am almost certain that you will need to make all these arrangements ahead of time. You have assigned seating so you server should have everything set for you when you arrive. Best of luck and could you please let us know what happens...if they do make substitutions. THANKS!

I am almost certain that you can make these requests when you get there. I have read several posts about people requesting pizza for kids. Apparently the servers at HDD can get food from the Trail's End Buffet kitchen.

However, a quick call can give you a solution. I know I want to see if we can get just plain corn, not the corn with peppers in it, so my kids will eat some semblance of vegies.

I also want to see if they can get us some plain butter instead of sweetened butter.

Disney is so accomodating, I am pretty sure you can work things out. At the price you pay for this show, they should try to make it work foryou.

When I called about different options for picky kids I was made to feel like they would do just about anything they needed to do to make our meal enjoyable. I went with sandard kid foods but I have read about a veggie pasta for adults. I called before we left home and was told to call again 48 hours out to make final plans.

We have been to HDDR 3X and they are more than willing to accomodate those with different tastes. They offered us chicken fingers, mac n cheese, and hot dogs for our girls who didn't like the fried chicken or ribs. We got the mac n cheese, and the girls had that plus the corn, salad and bread.

I'm glad to hear they offer different food for the kids if they wish. My daughters go with a cheese theme; cheese pizza, Mac and cheese, grilled cheese, etc. Sounds like mac and cheese or pizza would work along with the corn and beans.

As far as my DH vegetarian meal... I had read that you need to call 48 hours in advance, but wasn't sure what they would serve. My Dh isn't much for mystery veggie meal. I guess I wouldn't be either! The veggie pasta sounds OK.

Lisa-- If this is a primary concern, I think your best bet and quickest way to get your answer on vegetarian options would be to call the Hoop Dee Doo directly. I'm sure their number is on wdwinfo or allearsnet somewhere.

I have been to HDDR twice now & I am vegetarian.
They do have other offerings BUT make sure to arrange it beforehand.
I didn't do that the first time & the chef had to whip me up something & to tell you the truth it wasn't the greatest. Well, I shouldn't say it wasn't the greatest, but something I didn't care for too well.
But if you call 48 hours in advance they can pretty much whip up anything for you!
Make sure to call HDDR directly & don't depend on WDW Dining to get the special order though.

Btw--my son is also a vegetarian but they were more then happy to bring out mac & cheese for him. I think they have some already in the kitchen just for those picky kids

We ate at HDDMR last weekend with two children. The kids were offered macaroni or peanut butter sandwiches. Ask early for the kids meals...ours came mid-way through dinner. By that time, our restless two year old was almost beside himself.
