I have no idea where is the best place to purchase The Wii from. I am getting a surprise gift for my husband and son and I dont want to get a bad deal. So any suggestions would be great. Also what games do you like best? TIA

i think we got ours at Circuit City. They carry them at most electronics type stores (if you they have them in stock, that is).

Nintendo pretty much controls the price of the Wii's and it's usually the same anywhere you buy it...however, sometimes a store will include a giftcard or a free game if you buy one. A lot of places sell them as a bundle and include accessories where it ends up being a small savings overall. So don't worry about holding out for a better deal -- pretty much if you see one buy it, or you might not get one. We got ours @ Costco last year and I've noticed them with a bit more availability this season, but they are still not in stock on a regular basis.

I got mine at a video game store, I just happened to get lucky and walk in when they got in an order. Of course that was when they were much harder to find. Just make a few phone calls to any major retailer and you will find one. The price is the same everywhere, don't buy the package unless it contains things you really want/need.

We got ours at Target and bought the sports bundle that came with an additional controller. After a few weeks, we bought yet another controller so now we have three; one of reach of us.

We love our wii. It's something for the whole family. Have fun!

I used Wii alerts.com.

It tracked different bundles, and I eventually got one at Target.

Wal-Mart and it came with a great bundle package (extra controllers and three games) for only $20 more than the console itself.

We got ours at Toys R Us about a month ago - it is now sitting under my bed waiting for Christmas morning!!

Game Stop, Black Friday 2 years ago. As someone else has said, prices should be roughly the same no matter where you buy it. Most electronic, video game stores and places like Walmart and Target carry them. It's hard to believe that demand is still as high as it is.

Is Wii really "OT" for this board????

Same here! I found mine after calling around this summer and found it at a "Game Crazy" store (part of my local Hollywood Video store). The price was the same as anywhere else, but they gave me a %off card for various games which has come in handy and saved me money since I bought the system.

oh and on games- we got the basic sports one. We also have mario kart which is my favorite although I am horrible (we rarely have time to play our wii). We also have the lego star wars and wii fit. I haven't even opened those boxes yet. :lmao:

Games that I love:
Super Mario Galaxy
Wario Ware:Smooth Moves
Zack&Wiki:Quest For Barbaro's Treasure(if you can still find it, it is worth looking for it as it is a standout game)
The Legend of Zelda:Twilight Princess
Mario Kart Wii

We got ours last year at Sears. It was only September, but they were impossible to get so my mom bought it and gave it to my brother for his birthday (which is in late September) instead of Christmas, and got him a bunch of Wii games and accessories for Christmas. I would just say to look around at various stores, and if you're lucky, you may be able to find one. :)

A friend of mine just happened to be in the right place at the right time at Best Buy. A lot of the bundles might have stuff you don't want/need. I'd say that people have the best luck with going to video game stores, at least when it comes to availability.

The people at our Toys r us are GREAT. They gave me a big tip. If you get the Sunday paper and they have it advertised, that means that they will have them in stock that day!!

Your best bet, if you see it in the paper, is to go about an hour before they open that day (Sunday) and wait. Yes, there will be a line, but you'll be in good company. I did it and was number 20 of the 55 they got in stock that day.

Best of luck to you! I have Wii Fit and love it. I also like Mario Kart, and Mario Galaxy. I will say, however, that the game that comes with it is enough to entertain anybody for awhile!

A work colleague knew I was looking for one, and picked one up at Best Buy for me 3 days before christmas last year. Its awsome though, and well worth the money spent.

Is anything really off topic for this forum?:lmao: :lmao:

We bought ours at Meijer and bought Wii Play the same day and got another controller. Since then we have doubled our controllers to four and host Wii parties.:goodvibes :goodvibes

Last fourth of July we had someone take out a light on the fan in the living room, and someone forget the controller on there hand and DIP it into a cooler with melted ICE/Water in it. Some get so into it they forget whats going on.
