HI! DH just shocked me when I said "We should have gone to Sesame this summer". He said, "Is it open next weekend?" I checked, and not only is it open, but Stephanie and Ziggy from Lazytown will be there :woohoo: . Trouble is, the three hotels they offer on their website were booked. Anyone have any suggestions?

I've gotta go pack....SO EXCITED!!! :Pinkbounc

Hmm I am a little confused? It is mostly a water park. I mean probably 75% water park- so what can you do in the cold- there are a handful of rides and the parade- but I don't see that as a full park day. Just thinking that you may not get what you are expecting-(although I live about an hour away from it and it supposed to warm up later this week- although I don't think it will be swimming weather. The hotels that are nearby are all pretty basic. I think if you search there a fairfield inn,SHeraton,Holiday Inn Express,Hampton inn and a comfort inn nearby. The lazy town guys being there might be fun- but really I think there are at most 8 rides. I would rather go to Hershey.

I found a hotel, not far from Sesame. We are also booked for Breakfast with Elmo. :woohoo: I double-checked the website, and there are about 15 "dry" rides. I'm excited for my 17 mo DD to see Elmo "Melmo", whom she really loves. DD4 loves LazyTown. I'm partial to Sportacus (think it's the accent ;) )but I don't think he will be there. We'll have to see what the weather holds for us. I don't think it will be really cold, but you never know. If it is, we'll just have to dress warm :thanks: !!!!!!!!

Philadelphia is filled with hotels and the drive to Sesame Place is short, however, the weather here is a bit on the coolish side, and Sesame place is mostly a water park (with some non water rides some shows and parades) I am not sure it would be worth the price of admission.

Our local weather forecast says 65-67 degrees as the high for the weekend.

Sheraton Bucks County Hotel and Red Roof Inn both nearby.

DON"T stay at the Red Roof Inn!! It was horrible! The bed are so umcomfortable and very low. The place was dirty. Also I did not realize it was a place that pets could stay at. (no offense to pet owners)

The Sheraton is pricey about $200.00 a night

Have fun

ok I am sorry to be raining on your parade- but I don't want you to waste money. I looked at the list of dry "rides" and some of them are nothing more than the buildings- like sesame street...but there really isn't anything to do there except see the parade. And at least 4 of the others listed are similar types of "attractions" They do have a ball pit area- and they are listing each portion of it as an "attraction" actual RIDES are only Big Bird's balloon race, Grover's twirl, Vapor trail, Peek a bug, Blast off and flying fish- that is 6 rides. Click on the other items listed - you will see that several are character meets and others are just photo ops. Honestly if this is at full price it is NOT worth it. imho
also be aware that Sesame place does a "Free Day" in other words during the summer if you buy a ticket you can automatically go in the fall for free- so locals all can get in for free if they went during the season-

We live in Harrisburg PA a 2hr drive from Sesame Place and have Season Passes. You don't want to do Sesame Place right now. We were there yesterday, and they have a few kiddy rides and a few shows, but the water stuff is really what it is all about. We were there yesterday and did the trick or treat, the shows, and the rides and were done by 2 in the afternoon. You really want to go when you can do the water rides if you are spending that kind of money. If you also look HI 5 go there and perform in the summer months. You can get 2 days for the cost of one...then stay in a hotel over night first day do all water stuff and the second day you can do the rides and the shows...much more worth it. Now there isn't that much open. PM me if you want more info. Stay in Bensalem...it is only about 10 min down the road and cheaper hotels.

I'm from Hamilton, NJ which is only about 20 minutes away from Sesame Place. I was at Sesame Place on Saturday with one of my girlfriends and all of her kids (ages 15 months, 3, and 5)...I'm in 100% agreement that it definitely isn't worth the money. Luckily my friend has 2006 passports so it didn't cost anything for admission when we were there this weekend.

The majority of things are water attractions and they didn't even have them open. A lot of the dry "attractions" really are just walking courts and areas with character greetings. Honestly, you could go to a Chuck E Cheese and have just as good a time. The kids spent most of their time on the jumping air mattress and Cookie Mountain, which is just a soft mat with a rope for climbing. They had some Halloween activities but not much and the kids seemed to get bored very quickly.

I would save your money and plan for a trip next summer, when its hot and you can utilize ALL the attractions. It just isn't the same without the water activities open. Besides, there isn't a whole lot to do around that area besides going out to eat and walking around the Oxford Valley mall, which isn't all that great IMHO.

I'm only about 20 mins away & did buy the season passes this year since they included all of 2007 when you buy it (special deal in Aug when we went). I agree it may not be worth it since most of the stuff is water related. That will be a lot of expense & travel for the little bit you can do. We're actually going this coming weekend to check out the Halloween stuff - for those that just went, how were the crowds?

Also, the ball pit is no longer there - they took it out to put in the new Elmo rides (3 of them).

I live 5 min down the road and I agree with everyone. There is not going to be very much to do this time of year.

If you do decide to come stay away from the hotels that have a Levittown address. Ramamda Inn and Days Inn come to mind. They are in an iffy area.

There is a Courtyard Marriott in Bensalem about 10-15 min away that I have heard from a relative is nice.

I agree and I'd wait since it is mainly water rides. We have gone twice, once in early June & it was a bit chilly & the next time in July & it was crowded but warm. OH the June one it had all the end of school year kids there.

We did stay at a Marriott (not sure if it was a courtyard or not) but it had a 2 room suite with a fridge/microwave which was nice & it was across the street from Sesame.

 Hi from shoreline CT-just east/literally from the CT river

We are actually planning to go this weekend...but we are only located about 45 min away. It is a nice little park...we took the kids at the same time last year. The weather is a bit cool and there are not a ton of rides but my kids did love it! They love the characters and the shows....I am just not interested in going in the summer in the huge crowds so this is perfect for us. Since you are coming from a distance maybe you could also check out the Philadelphia Zoo or some of the other local attractions....that are not too far from SP.

We went to a wedding in May and stayed at the Hampton Inn in Bensalem. It was VERY NICE! Very clean, wonderfully comfortable beds, fairly new and nice breakfast bar. I highly recommend it.

I saw that Sesame Place was only a few minutes away and considered taking DD (who is 2) there as a side trip. I have to admit though, when I saw the prices and heard what it had to offer, we decided against it. It looked like too much emphasis on the water park aspect and too many shows that I felt she wouldn't have the patience for, but we might reconsider going there with her in a couple of years.

If you go, have a great time!
