OT: Where do you unload baby items?

Baby is growing out of everything so fast and we know she is the last. I want to start to unload of few big items. Should I have a yard sale or sell them on ebay or craigslist. What does everyone else do? Where would I make a "better" sale? I have never sold anything on ebay or craigslist. I have had only one yardsale and it rained all day. Thanks for any advice.

Do you have a childrens consinment shop near you? If not Ive always had good luck with craigslist in my area. I dont like to list on ebay anymore just cuz Im lazy and dont want to have to ship things LOL craigslist they come to me LOL

i was going to suggest a children's resale shop as well...

you could always consider donating some item as well ...

i have done both...i sold some items but alot of baby toys, clothing, etc i donated to the Battered Women's Shelter here in our area ... these women walk in literally with the clothes on their backs and their children in tow, alot of times in the middle of the night, when they feel it is safe to leave the house ... so they need all the basic items badly ...

I use craigslist a lot because I dont want to have to worry about packing up and mailing items.

Twice a year we have a big kids consignment sale at the fair grounds and another one out an outlet mall. By consigning you get to shop before the public and you tend to get more % of the cosignment money. Otherwise, I would sell it on Craigslist. It is free to list and you receive 100% of the price.

I've sold lots of baby stuff on craigslist. I'd say try that first and then try a garage sale. But I'll bet if you list it on craigslist you'll have it sold in a few hours. Our local consignment places charge way too much.

Twice a year I take loads of clothes and toys to a consignment sale near where we live. Whatever does not sell is donated. I made $235 for our trip to Disney.

I am sure that most big cities would have some sort of sale like this. You could google it.

I always donate my stuff...somebody out there has some really nice stuff! I'm glad too.

I feel good when I sell some items and donate some as well. Equipment that is in really good shape will go easily on Craigslist or at a consignment sale. Some consignors keep too much of the profits - I go thru someone who has a sale twice a year and I keep 70% of what sells and that sits well with me.

Donating to a shelter shop is a great idea too. Or do you have a neighbor or relative who can use any baby items? I like to "spread the wealth" when I can.

My two best friends are both pregnant now, so I've been picking through the "better" stuff I have to pass along to them. I got a ton of clothes for my DS from my cousin whose son is 8 months older than mine...but since I plan to eventually have another baby, most of the stuff is ending up in our downstairs room for storage. We picked up a few things at yard sales too; I imagine when I'm officially done with things, we'll yard sale them or put them on craig's list.

I donated my stuff to friends or a low income parenting "house" and took the write off. Not worth my time to yard sale, I don't touch ebay mess and figure I goot much joy from my stuff I wanted others to who might not be able to afford.

That looks awesome. Sometimes I wish I could be creative, but I'm not. This post is making me think of what I should do with all the bins of clothing that I have.

You all are great. Thanks for the responses! I think I may do a little craigslist and a little donating. Also I love the blanket idea. I really wish I was that creative. Was it hard to do?

I do not sew regularly. I just cut the clothes in squares and sew them together. I was quite surprised at how well it turned out. I got the idea from a magazine.
