We won't be going to Surfside Beach, SC on our annual beach trip, but we'll be going to Philly for a weekend and maybe NYC.

The plan is to drive down I-5 into California and visit the Six Flags parks in Valejo (near San Francisco) and Magic Mountain (near LA). We are also trying to fit in another driving trip to Yellowstone.

Both can be work related trips for DH, so it's just a matter of working them in. I have a few hang ups: Sports Camp, our church's version of Vacation Bible School and Girl Scout Day Camp. If we can work around them, we will be set!

*My backyard

*Community Pool - lessons for the kids

*Golf Course - lessons for DS9

*Hershey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd like to squeeze in a few other places but I don't know when we'd go or even if we'd have time to anywhere else.

Heading to the Jersey shore for a week in July. Going to an island in September (not sure where yet).
Disney in late Oct. or Nov. (kinda work related, so it won't cost as much).

We are going to Mackinac Island and the UP in July. The kids will get to see the real "up north" now.

We were going to head to Pittsburgh for a few weeks (That is where my husband is from) but with gas prices we have decided to stay here and do some things that we have not been able to do. For example, we have lived in New Orleans for a year and havent really explored the city. (I lived in Maine for 4 years and got used to the small town life so the "city" seemed kind of overwhelming. But we will feel that out.

Then we are going to go to Houston for a long weekend. We did it last summer and was able to get a great rate at an Omni (my favorite) so the kids have pool time and we can go to the Rainforest Cafe there. Just to Relax.

Then we are thinking of going to Destin Fl for a few days because we have never been able to take the kids to the beach I think they would love it. Hopefully we can get some good rates.

Oh lets see...

Disney World in about 4 more days!:teeth:

Hershey in July

Lake George, NY with my parents in August

Let's see...

WDW in 8 days for 8 days

Wedding in northern MI at the end of June

Hoping to go on a trip to Maine if DH has some free time.

Then I'm like Belle... my backyard. Although my backyard has a 5 acre pond in it so the kids can keep busy and I think I'll substitiute the margaritas for a six pack of Bud Light. I love a really cold beer(s) in the summer.

  • WDW in 2.5 weeks (only a 3 night visit)
  • New York for 2 nights in July
  • Euclid, OH in August (Off Kilter!!)
  • WDW in late August

Busy summer!

Going to the Cincinnati area and to Kings Island in July for a few days. :bounce:

Going to the Henry Ford Museum/Greenfield Village this weekend with friends. :)

In a couple of weeks;

Atlantic Beach, North Carolina for 8 days

September:

Long weekend in Montauk - 4 days

I keep telling my husband to hand in there. Soon we'll be in our beach chairs with nothing but the cooler between us.

DH and I went to Mackinac Island a few years ago (way before kids) and loved it! It's so great to be on the island and look back at the "mainland" and realize nobody from the "outside world" can get to you there since they have to come by boat or plane. At least that's the way it felt to us. We hiked all over the island and rented bikes one day and did the big loop around the island.

Where are you staying at Mackinac, assuming you're staying on the island?

Las Vegas. My husband's aunt & uncle are celebrating their 50th anniversary by retying the knot at the Bellagio. The entire family is heading out there.

Looking forward to that and of course sitting on the back deck with a good book.
