OT- When do you start putting Christmas things up?

I am glad to see that I am not the only one who wants to get the Christmas stuff out! I like to put it out early, because I feel that if I wait until Thanksgiving and do it, Christmas is here in a blink of an eye and I am turning around and taking it all back down again. I like to enjoy it.

My birthday is Dec 1st so when I was growing up we didn't put out anything Christmas related until after we celebrated the birthday. Not anymore!!

My birthday is Dec 1 also. But my mom always put her tree up the day after Thanksgiving. Which is what I usually do too, but its so late this year and it takes me so long to get it all decorated that I really want to start a little earlier this year.

DH family usually doesn't even get their tree until the week of Christmas so he is never in a hurry. But I like to have lots of time to enjoy my Christmas decorations. With us going to Disney in December I feel like I am going to lose some of my time for Christmas decorations so it's making me want even more to start putting them up now!

Luckily DD loves the Christmas music as much as I do so she won't mind if I start playing it in the car.

We will tag our tree the weekend before Thanksgiving--since we leave that weekend for Disney. When we get back we will do all decorating, but the tree. WE will get eh tree probably around the 8th of December. WIth a real tree we want to wait a little bit.

I m in the MOOD already--maybe I will start listening to music tonight.

DD is practicing Christmas songs on the piano as I type. She loves the holidays as much as I do. Usually we wait until Thanksgiving but I plan to get them out the weekend before this year. It's later this year plus we'll be gone that weekend. It'll be nice to have the work done & come home to a decorated house. It takes so much work to unpack everything that I like to have them up a few weeks to make it worthwhile. They come down shortly after NY's.

We've done an artificial tree the last few years & they're asking for a real tree this year. We might do both if we keep it smaller. I'm a little afraid our new dog will be marking them!

DH has the lights on the buildings all up and will start putting stuff on the lawn this weekend. We turn on Thanksgiving night.

Here is part of last years display.

I love big displays! I don't have the patience to put one up so I live off everyone else's creativity! Probably put some stuff out today.:santa:

I used to wait until the weekend after Thanksgiving but a couple years ago we started doing it the weekend before Thanksgiving which I love. I absolutely make myself wait until after Halloween to start playing Christmas music so first thing Saturday I got up and got to listen to my favorite music. I feel like I'm going to lose time this year because we'll be at disney for 10 days so I'm going to put our decorations up the weekend of November 15. I love the holidays and everything that goes along with it. It truly is the best time of the year.

We usually do it the first week of December, sometimes the second week if we're really busy.
This year I'd really like to do it sooner and I'm planning to get it all up the day after Thanksgiving.

Last night the kids and I listened to Christmas music while we were making dinner and baking cookies. DH would have rolled his eyes, but he wasn't here

Christmas is my favorite time of the year. We always put ours up the day after Thanksgiving. DH was talking about getting the lights on the house this weekend before it starts getting cold out.

We do ours the weekend after Thanksgiving.

Someone in our neighborhood already has their tree up and a local radio station has started playing Christmas music. Do people not remember we have Thanksgiving?? LOL!

It drives me crazy to see it up before Thanksgiving....but to each his own. :-)
