I have 26.000 points--should I get gas cards for the roadtrip or ?

I used mine last year for Christmas gifts. This year I cashed out for (3) $25.00 RFC gift cards to cover a lunch at AK

Wow, with that many points I think I'd have to cash in for WebCertificates and maybe use some of that to buy a Disney Store GC and use THAT to get some Disney Dollars!!! :teeth: Way to save! ;)

I'm all cashed out and the cards have been rec'd as well--I used them for gas cards and RFC cards. Looks like a virtually free roadtrip! :cool1:

I have a few ideas.

If you already have a trip booked and to save the $6.95 fee to get a plastic card (this though you can use anywhere. It works like a credit card but Im too cheap to spend the $!!!!)

just call Disney (or whereever your staying) and have them put whsatever you have on your card to your hotel balance. I did this for our trip last Oct and it worked great>

Or but this takes getting the right CM Ive printed out the account page from webcertificates and taken it to TDS and had them run the card # through manually and bought $DD soem CM are real good about it and others insist that you have the plastic card they can swipe.

THe hotel idea actually works much better and its easier. This works for any kind of phone order Ive used it when I've gotten concert tickets too

good luck and if you have anymore ?s please ask

and congrats on getting so many points.

I really like this idea but I have never cashed in Mypoints for anything other than a restaurant gift card. If I understand correctly, I need to go to Mypoints and cash in for a web certificate? It sounds like its only to be used for web purchases so how can I get the balance applied to my room reservation at WDW? I don't want to spend the $6.95 either to get the plastic card but I am so new at this approach. Thank you!!

The web certificate can be used for ANYTHING, it is a mastercard account. Once you redeem they send you an email with a link to webcerts, DONT delete it!!!! YOu have to set up an account there and then they will put in your mastercard number. Be aware that they will charge you for NO ACTIVITY, so use it or loose it. Then you can call WDW and use that CC number and balance to pay part of your room.

BTW, most TDS' are out od Disney Dollars, and they have no idea if they will even get them again, according to a cast member I know.

MEM

the account at webcertificate is easy to set up

if I can do it anyone can!!!!

and then like mickeyfan1 said dont delete the email with link to webcertif

and then call and put on your room balance. It doesnt even have to be Disney any phone order you could use it on.

good luck and let me know how this worked for you.

any ?s just let me know

One thing I learned the hard way -- Webcertificates expire -- you need to spend what's on your card or you will lose it (at the moment I don't remember exactly how long you have -- it is on their website).

I always seem to have a hard time spending it online because it has to be the amount of the certificate or less -- it can't be more than that amount. I guess I just haven't caught on to how to use them or something.
(And I even bought the plastic card!)

I went to their site and checked -- you need to spend it in 6 months or they start assessing a "dormancy fee" of $3.00 per month.
