need some ideas for breakfast. i am usually a big breakfast eater. i don't want to start my mornings off by using a ton of points, but i need something filling! any suggestions!

My favorite WW breakfast is non-fat greek yogurt, defrosted frozed berries (I'd get the big bag from costco), with some Kashi Go Lean on top - filling, nutritious, and yummy! I would also make mushroom omlets with egg whites. For a quicky, some peanut butter on light toast. Oh, and I loved the one point english muffins!

  • Egg white omelet with reduced fat cheese
  • Quaker Weight Control Instant Oatmeal (the banana bread flavor is delicious!)
  • Light English Muffin (most store brands are 1 pt.) with a few slices of turkey bacon or canadian bacon

I'm doing WW now, and while I was not a big oatmeal person before, I've found that of all the options I've tried, it's the most filling and satisfying. I keep mini-bags of Smart Pop Popcorn on hand too, as a whole bag is only 1 pt.

How many points are you willing to use for breakfast. I have quite a few options that I use, but I am at 6 points on my breakfast as it is my "fuel" meal. If you want to go that high, I would be more than happy to suggest some meals.

I usually have a serving of Total Raisin Bran with 1/2 cup of skim milk along with coffee with a splash of skim milk. Not very exciting but it does the trick for 3 points.

Another idea that is low points (can't remember the total but I try to stick to 4 or less for breakfast) is Special K red berry waffles. I put some whip cream and sliced strawberries on top and it is like having desert!

these are great. that waffle idea sounds delicious!! trying not to do more than 3 or 4 points on breakfast...need to get some of those 1 point english muffins!

I second the 1 pt english muffins. I like the Thomas 100 calorie ones. I think the high fiber ones are 1 pt, too, but I didn't like the taste as much. I used spray butter for a little flavor and that is 0 points. I also like greek yogurt with granola.

I frequently have a breakfast sandwich. Egg beaters, cheese slice and sandwhich thin toasted for 3. Then later if I'm hungry for a snack I will have some fruit or WW yogurt (key lime pie is my fav)

Have you seen the frozen Smart Ones breakfasts? I LOVE them, and I'm not doing WW right now. They are between 4-5 points. It is expensive when you put it against making your own breakfast sandwich, but very convenient.

My favorite was a lightly toasted WW bagel with 1 tablespoon of peanut butter. It's been a while but that was 3 or 4 points. Also if you like eggbeaters they are a good alternative and if I remember correctly it is the same points for 2 servings as it is for one. In other words a 1/4 of a cup of egg beater was the same points as a 1/2 of a cup.
Check the label because as I said, it's been a while and I know the program has changed a little.

Egg White Omlettes! I try to keep my breakfast to 4 points now and those egg white omlettes are great and filling. I buy a container of egg whites (it looks like a quart milk container and you can get it in dairy section by eggs) It's not more expensive then using 3 eggs anf throwing away the yolks and I think it cooks better. 1/2 cup is 1 point and I load it with veggies. Usually mushrooms and tomatoes. Sometimes I add left over veggies from the night before (broccoli, pepper) fat free salsa is also good. And the best part when you add veggis you don't add points.

So 1 point for egg whites & veggies.
1 point for light english muffin (I don't put anything on it)
1 or 2 points for fruit (banana, apple, pineapple)
or 1 point for fruit / 1 point fat-free cheese.

3-4 points and I find it filling.

You can also do an egg white veggie omlette with 1 cup cerel (2 pts) and 1/2 cup fat free milk (1 pt) - another 4 point breakfast.

Sometimes if I'm in the mood for cereal I use 1 1/2 cups (3 points) and mix the cereal (bran flakes, corn flakes & rice kripses) and add 1/2 cup milk - 4 points.

I just find egg whites a big help when trying to get filled up with fewer points.

You can also make egg salad - I use 1 hard boiled egg (2pts) and 2 boiled egg whites 1 pt. I mix in mustard instead of mayo (0 pts) - Don't go yuck with mustard - it tastes great. In fact when we were kids that's how my mom made it and I loved it. I also chop up a small pickle or sometimes a bit or red roasted pepper or some grape tomoatoes in it. a 3pt egg salad that's very filling - and if you want a 1pt bread (the WW pita breads are great for 1 pt - big and filling).

I make the quaker oatmeal (2 points) and add a tablespoon of peanut butter. It is so delicious and filling. You can also add some 0 point jam!

I make a lot of egg white omelets, or hard boil a bunch of eggs and just eat the white. I also love love love LOVE my vitatops. Not sure if you have seen these, but they are these muffin tops that come in different flavors (basically all of the chocolate ones are good) for 100 calories each. I have this with a little bowl of fruit and I am good to go. I can't find vitatops in stores here so I order mine through Amazon.

Hungry Girl has some great recipes for the vitatops in her cookbooks. I've seen some good deals on them through the website also.

When I have time I make:

2 pieces of Country Hearth Italian bread
1/4 cup of egg beater (=1 egg)
1 piece of fat free cheese slice
5 pieces of carl buding corn beef

I make myself an egg, cheese and meat sandwich all for 4 points. It is really good and quite filling.

I like a 1pt English muffin w/1 pt cheese single and 2 points of scrambled egg beaters or Morningstar farm sausage patty.

Also like a high fiber wheat tortilla with T peanut butter and friut spread, rolled up, with a piece of fruit. I know PB is high in points, but the fat sticks with you longer and that makes it worth it in my book.

I'd skip the 3 points and 12 grams of fat with the butter!

The peanut butter I use is only 4.5 grams of fat, 80 calories and 1 gram of fibre. 2 points with the 2 points of oatmeal is only a total of 4 for breakfast and it is delicious and filling.

Another egg white omlette fan. I put mushrooms and onions in a bowl and microwave them for a minute before adding the egg whites. I put this on a bagel (I have three point ones) and add a little tobasco sauce. If I want a treat I'll top it with a sliced up baby bell lite for one more point.
