OT-we have termites, whats the best solultion

We have the very early stages of termites. We've had two different companies come out.

The first is a local company. They recommended digging a trench around the house and boring holes in the foundation and treating it with chemicals that way.

The other company, Terminix, recommended spot treating the infected area and then putting treated wooden stakes in the ground around the house.

These are both very different treatments. Does anyone know what the best one would be? We are clueless.

We did it the first way. We had them in our master bathroom only but decided to treat the entire house just in case. We didn't have a reoccurance while we lived in the house.

My DM did it the Terminix way. They come and check it every six months to a year. She pays a yearly fee. She always seems to have them in one spot. Not many (6 to 10 of the little buggers). I asked her that if food was kept in the traps to draw them there wouldn't there always be something there? I don't know.

Find out which company has the best guarantee (sp).

We used terminix, and were happy with the program. However, terminix requires you to sign the contract that they own the bait stations. Check around, others do not. Also, check the internet, you can get similar stations, bait, etc. on the net.
