My sister and her family will be joining us on our family disney vacation this year and my Dniece is a notoriously picky eater, which lead to me & my sister laughing hysterically about some of the meals we had to eat as children. Case in point, every saturday was liver night in my house which me and my siblings hated so we ate Chef boy ardee Spagehetooes (sorry about the spelling). I remember my first time going to an italian restaurant and getting authentic spaghetti and saying "on what planet is chef boy ardee spaghetti :rotfl2: "

Any body else with crazy childhood dinner stories?

I personally cannot remember this, but my mother looooves to tell it. It was the Blizzard of '78, and of course my mom didn't have anything to eat in the house. So my dad made some sort of tuna casserole. As she tells it, she and my dad refused to eat it, because it looked and smelled so awful. She says I took one whiff and refused, but my brother ate the whole thing and asked for more. I don't know what else was in it, but it couldn't have been any good. To this day, she will wonder aloud, "why did I let him eat that tuna-thing?" :rotfl:

Although I can't remember it too well, something must have stuck. I cannot eat tuna unless it comes right out of the fridge, nice and cold...and when I hear a storm is coming, I am one of those squirrel nuts running to the store making sure I have EVERYTHING I could possibly need  You know, the staples: bread, milk, cheese, salad dressing, gum, TUNA ;)
