OT Vent: I MISS Disney!

I had a really hard time for two years after moving here! We lived only 45 min. from Disneyland in CA and anytime I was having a really bad day I would head to Disneyland and make myself feel better!

When DH wanted to move to Charlotte, NC, my first thought was, "What do you mean you want me to live that far from a Disney park!!!!"

For the past 2 years we have gone for only one week per year. This year we are going 5 full weeks (not all at once!) and I am so excited! We are heading down for 2 weeks in January and one or two weeks in May and then one more time in Oct or November. I am so excited!

You are so not alone!!! We have not been to the World since '07. My DH had the bright idea to do something different for vacation this past year... but secretly I was like we could have been at Disney. Well sinc'09 is my year to plan vacation, I get my fix planning ou trip. We head down in May and I am missing "home" till we get there.

You are not alone, at all!! We try to go every two years... We went last Aril and when we got home I was having major anxiety!! I missed Disney so badly! DS5 wanted to knwo why we couldnt just live there!! I know we wont be able to go this year. I think they great part about spacing outthe trips is the anticipation of it all - the planning and researching and disboarding... I had the same anxiety after our DCL in 05.... then I got pregnant and we weret able to go until 08... in those 3 years i got so obesessed wth the Dis I started a thread and its still going today -

Needless to say, I am getting the bug again! I have been checking out trip scenarios online and talking about it w/ DH. I too got the big girl lecture about it just not being feasible this year (DH shut his company down and is working for someone else now). I can always look forward to 2010 I guess!? Think about how super planned and organized tat trip will be!!??

We are missing Disney too. We just got back from a quick trip this month (too quick) and we have a trip booked in Sept. I try to make myself feel better by planning for it, right now it just seems too far away.

It's funny but I was never a big Disney fan until we went to the World, and now it's like I'm addicted! Seriously, if I'm not on the DISboards, I'm on SR trying to earn a little extra spending money for Disney.....

I really feel your pain! We went in October and I swear I am crawling out of my skin wanting to go back! We are planning on September but it seems like an eternity from now!

My last trip to the World was over Christmas in December '06 I can't really complain because we went on 12-day Jamaican AI vacation this past May (there's 6 of us so it was $$$$$) but I would've preferred to go to DISNEY! My DH can't understand why I want to go but I'm missing the World so bad. He's in the automotive industry so I that just makes it all that much worse 'cuz I know we really won't go back for a while. If only I could find a way - I'd like to go before the baby turns 3 so I'm on a mission and i have been trying to save up for a trip just for him. But that's like another couple of years away. Okay, now I'm really depressed.
