Would you say this movie is appropriate for a 4 and 6 year old? Our base is doing family movie night and I want to take mine, but I haven't heard or seen this movie.

FWIW, I am normally a strict TV parent. They watch (for the most part) only children's programing, like PBS, some Disney, etc.

For my 2cents, I would say no, it's not appropriate. I just researched it this past Tuesday morning as it is showing for free at a local cinema for kids movie hour. I have a 4 yr old and was hoping it would work for us, but after viewing the trailer and other scenes online I decided against it. It is rated PG, but it seems to have a lot of pre-teen jokes and sarcasm - not what I want to open a 4 yr old up to on purpose.

It seems to be a bunch of "look how smart kids are, look how dumb adults are". My DH hates that type of movie (can't say that I love them myself).

Lori P. :)

I would also say no. I would consider it more on the pg-13 side of PG than the G rated side. By the way, it comes out on DVD at the end of August (weird since it takes place at Christmas time), so if you wanted to you could rent it and preview it and then let your kids watch it after you've previewed it.

Thanks guys!

We are going tonight (they are doing bounce houses, etc before hand) so I think we'll just leave when the movie starts. I don't need my kids learning any sarcastic or annoying things before their time, LOL.
