First, this is my 5,000th post! Was going to celebrate over on the Congrats & Birthdays forum, but I wanted to celebrate with my friends instead!

The second thing is that we went to a friend's holiday party tonight (she's a Disney lover and frequent POFQ visitor). As soon as we got there she blurted out, "Merry Christmas! I'm organizing a 7 day Wonder cruise for November 27th of next year. Can you go with us?" DH looked at me and started laughing because I finally got him to watch the Travel channel's small segment on Disney Cruises and it finally got him interested in going. She has 10 category 9 cabins booked and if we're able to go we're the ones who will guarantee the group rate. Hooray! The downside is that DS was "punished" last year for missing a couple basketball practices when we went to the WL over Thanksgiving last year. We've got to talk to Andrew and figure out what he wants to do. Keep your fingers crossed for me everyone! We have to have our deposit in by February 1st so we'll be discussing it alot until then. Just the thought has me in a great mood!:Pinkbounc

Wow what a dilemma.
As far as the basketball practises are concerned I can't believe they would *punish* because he went away. That is awful.

I'd go......:hyper:

Congratulations, Denise, on your 5000th post!! Way to go!! :)

As for school, I know how you feel...I am seriously debating about next December....My son will be in First Grade and they frown on taking your kids out of school for vacations here...This year he is in Kindergarten and while it wasn't a big deal, he still missed alot of school and I felt guilty about it.

I still have no idea what we are going to do next year...we always go the first week in December because that is DH's vacation time...

Sending you some pixie dust for your cruise...I hope it all works out for you! :)

I too, go to a school where they frown on taking the kids out of school for vacation. They won't give you any work upfront and some of the teachers are actually nasty. I do it anyway. My kids do well in school so I don't feel that its a big deal. When they go into middle school I don't think that I'll do it then. It does make you kind of nervous though if they miss a week in a row. But, definitely worth it!
