Thanks for sharing that. I wonder how thay are going to handle cross contamination issues with all that gluten around. Be intetresting to see and wonderful to have a fast food option!

They would really need to up the training. From what I have seen at Subway, they really don't seem to "get" the danger of cross contamination.

Depends on the store. The one by my work is extremely careful.

Good to know. I know some stores are independently owned. But after travels through several states I have yet to find one that "got it". I will have to check the ones in Dallas next time I am there.

I think they are careful here due to the large Muslim community in the area, and the Hallal requirements. The store is owned and operated by a Muslim family, so they understand.

I learned something new today, never heard the term Hallal before and went to look it up. Guess you can teach an old dog new tricks!

Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone has tried the gluten free options at Subway yet? I have a teenage son who was diagnosed as having Celiac disease two years ago. He is not consistent in maintaining the proper diet, and we are always looking to find new options for him. So far, most commercially prepared gluten free options are dismal with a few items that seem to standout.

For those days when he is really craving an old fashioned comfort food; the gluten free Bisquick and Betty Crocker products hit the spot.
