So we've been staying at Emerald Island for a week now, and every day we pass by that deserted resort on the corner of Funie Steed and Formosa Gardens Blvd.

What was that place? It is rather intriguing, with some moutainish-looking mounds with structures on top, and some other interesting looking buildings and structures.

Anybody know the story on that place?

It was called Splendid China and was a Chinese themed attraction. It has been closed a few years now. It used to have a large dragon at the corner of Funnie Steed road and 192. They have now taken that down.

Yes, it was Splendid China. We went the year it opened and thought it was very interesting. They had scaled down models of things that you would see in China. The great wall ran through the middle of the park and there were replicas of many Chinese temples, buildings etc. They had an acrobatic show and a few other show type things. It was very well done but with so many other attractions in the area I guess it was probably low on people's lists of things to do and not a lot for kids to do there.

Awesome - I knew I could count on you guys. I found some interesting photos and stories searching Google now that I know what it was called.
