My husband is Portuguese and we were hoping that Portugal would be able to at least play in the finals.

We were so shocked to see his behavior........watched it on tivo, over and over! Boy I'd love to know what the Italian player said to him to send him over the edge like that!

Very sad to see it end with that tone. Especially when it was a great game up to that point. I feel bad for the rest of his team too.

We loved all of the coverage they had for the entire World Cup! It was fun to watch.

Yes, I was riveted to the screen So sorry a player like Zdane had to go out that way, gives soccer a bad name! He deserves everything that comes to him.

I was for Italy; but could not believe he would leave his team one down during the play off! Yes, I would love to know what the Italian said to him that set him off

Well, I must be the only one who was riveted to the VMK screen. I did see most of the final game though.

The head butt was bad but I really have to wonder if it would be such a huge news item if it had happened during a regular season game. Worthy of a red card? Definitely! But I don't think it would have made it out of the sports section of the news here.

I just hope a soccer fan doesn't harm him for what he did. I've heard of at least one soccer player being killed for "losing" the game. Nobody deserves that sort of treatment.
