In October last year I remember getting a telemarketing type call from some company that asked a few vacation planning questions. Nothing personal or identifying. I was ok with them. Anyhow.... I was called by them again today. Turns out the company is Sundream Holidays. Has anyone ever heard of them? I have been awarded two prizes. One is dinner for two at a restaurant in our city that really like. The second is one of five others (cannot remember them all but the included : a weekend at oak island, short Vegas trip, Disney trip and there was mention of an air canada or west jet flight voucher). Didn't get all the details of the special because I was on my iPad trying to get some "dirt" on the company. Did not find anything other than its a member based vacation club. The catch is that DH and I have to sit through an info session next week to get our gift cert. to the restaurant. The will at that time do the draw for the bigger prize. We are pretty tough against hard sell tactics so I am not worried about leaving with a membership. I made it out of two Dvc presentations without getting one. Lol

Has anyone heard of this outfit? Anyone a member?

Thanks!

Reading your post I was seeing red flags all over the place. Haven't had a chance to Google them, but please do a LOT more checking before walking in the door to this outfit. And if you think that DVC is a hard sell..... you ain't seen nothin' yet.

ETA: a quick check shows that this company bills itself as a 'travel club' and is based in Nova Scotia since 2005

I'd do a lot of research. Usually if things are too good to be true........
And what would you have to go thru for the trips? I wouldn't want to spend half my time attending time share presentations. Heard some of them are pretty awful, when they sense you just booked for the free trip and have no interest.

We all know that there is no such thing as a free lunch. Lol. I looked up he company, checked the better business bureau ( nothing was un resolved) I am going to call oak island resort (I used to work for the company that owns them) and say that sundream holidays has listed them as a travel partner and one of the potential prizes. May get an inside scoop. The claim hat they are not a time share organization but an Internet based vacation club. I am sure membership enrollments and fees apply but we are not interested in that. We are debating a Dvc and are saving for that. But if anyone else has heard about this company or knows anyone that has some experience with them, please let me know!

Well we went to the sales pitch. What a load of "what-not". They had one guy named "John" do the soft sell sales pitch. Using terms like "wouldn't you agree", "who can deny" Blah Blah. Then his minions :rotfl2: went around and dropped the price bomb and what was included. $4000 grand for a ten year membership. We pretended to be interested, but I said Thanks but no. The dropped the price to half and was very intersted in type of credit cards we use. I said flat out "If you strongly believe in your service than you wouldn't have to lower the price to get us to buy it" With that he thanked me for my time, gave me a meal voucher for ten bucks off dinner (big deal ) and I drew a number out of this HUGE barrel of tickets. There claim was one Disney trip, one vegas trip, one cruise, 10 Air Canda vouhers and the remaining 4000 tickets were $250 off a booking with Sundream Holidays. As if!

I took a card of the John guy. His card says John Frank. I googled it with the addition of scam and his real name came up John Frank Vienot. Lives here in Nova Scotia and has served time for such scams in other parts of the country.

The worst part was I think an elderly couple bought into it before we left.:scared1:

Anyhow! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS GROUP. Lesson learned on this end.

DH and I did decide on something while we were there. We are going to buy into a DVC instead next year. :woohoo: They are much more reputable and if I am going to empty my pockets must rather do it while I am enjoying myself at WDW!!
