I am giving my DD's Pre-K teacher, a summer vacation gift bag at the end of the year. I bought a really cute handbag at Target and would like to fill it with some summer/beach items for her. So far, I have sunscreen, a water bottle, and lip balm. Any ideas of other things could I put in the bag?

A local ice cream shop gift certificate would be fun!

I do a lands end tote bag for my dd's teachers each year. I put sunscreen, flip flops, beach towel, magazine (real simple, People etc) their favorite snacks, and water bottle.

Ok, so I will say this, knowing that people will not like what I say, but having taught school myself, and having a parent who has taught for over 30 years, I can say:

Please skip the trinkets and stuff. Gift cards may seem impersonal, but when you have 30 kids who all give you trinkets that say "best Teacher" every year for 30 years, well let's be honest, that's a lot of junk sitting in a closet (or a landfill) somewhere.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. I am definitely going to add a beach towel, magazine, and gift card to Cold Stone. :)

Unfortunately, I am not a gift card only kind of person. So, I would never give just a gift card. I hope her teacher (now and in the future) will appreciate the gifts we send them and that they won't just end up in a landfill somewhere. :sad2: Then again, I don't think the gifts we usually give are junk as I would never give a gift that I wouldn't want to receive myself.
