Hi-

I am having a yard sale this weekend and am trying to decide if I want to sell my Peg Aria stroller with the infant seat and base this weekend. I only used it for about 6 mths. I was thinking about getting a Mac Triumph or a Quest in its place.

Am I being crazy? Need advice from Peg and Mac fans. The baby using the stroller is 11 mths old.

Thanks-

I dont have a Peg but we have a Mac single and Double. I really love Macs because of the rain shield, and the easy to fold up design. My kids love it, and have used theirs for almost three years now.

Never yard-sale a Peg (or a Mac)!

Sell it on eBay and you will get at LEAST 50% of what you paid new, and probably closer to 80%.

Agree with the never yard-sale a Peg or Mac - I bought a new Peg Pliko for $15 at a yard sale! It was almost noon and she just wanted to get rid of it... you won't get much for it there. You could try Craigslist if you're in or close to a major city (free listing, no fees and they have to come pick it up) or Ebay and you'll get so much more for it. We have a Mac Twin Rally and LOVE it - the Triumph is really nice, too. You'll really like the Mac strollers!

I vote for keeping the Aria (but if you're selling I'd eBay or Craigslist it). My DS is almost 2.5 and about 6 months ago I offered to sell our P3 to a friend - I'm sooo glad they didn't take us up on it. My DS is in a phase where he won't nap at home but goes out in a second in the car, so on the weekends we let him fall asleep in the car then load him into the P3 fully reclined and let him nap while we do some shopping. (I know this is a cop out and I really should work on him napping at home, but he goes down great at daycare...so this is one of my "pick my battles" things)

Anyway, i'm not sure about the recline in the Aria but I'd say hang onto it for a while. My DS also loves the front tray on the P3 and just isn't as hot about riding in our Mac Triumph or Quinny Zapp as he is about the P3 - I'm guessing it is the tray factor (although you can use a Baby Trend tray on a Mac). OK, I'm just blabbing now...LOL!

Good luck with your decision!

I have a Mac Quest and a a Mac Twin Traveller (that I JUST got) and I'm telling you, I don't know how I EVER lived without Maclaren Strollers!!!!!!!! I had a Peg Aria double and had too many problems with it, so I returned it...three times.

Go for a Maclaren...but DON'T sell your Peg at a yard sale!!!!! Since it was used for only 6 months, you can get much of your investment back if you sell it on ebay. Do you have the original box? If so, EVEN BETTER!!! I just bought my Twin Traveller from ebay (it was brand new, though) and I got such a great deal, I couldn't pass it up. I bought it specifically with Disney trips in mind, since my oldest DS is 4 1/2!!!

I bought an Aria and then two months later bought a Maclaren. I love them both but I probably will sell the Aria soon! I don't ever use it anymore and only ever used it 3 times! But I am sure I'll get close to what I paid so not really worried.

I check the going rate on ebay for used but in good condition Aria's. They are going for around $25-$35. I am a little disappointed. I was hoping to get at least $50. Now I don't know what to do.

You people are crazy. The BEST stroller is a much cheaper one...Graco Quattro Tour. Best money I spent on anything for my child!

Speaking from my experience with my oldest DD, I wouldn't get rid of the Aria before you know that your child will like the Mac. I love our Mac but when DD was younger she hated strollers without the tray. We eventually ended up with a double stroller when DD#2 was born so I don't know exactly when she grew out of it.

Graco- 32 lbs.(shipping weight); awkward book fold; carries child to 40 lbs.; MSRP $140

Mac Triumph- 15 lbs.(shipping weight); umbrella fold with carry strap; carries child to 55 lbs.; MSRP $140

Some like their Gracos and swear by them. I'll take the Mac.

But how do they do offroad?

I don't really need it for off-road...I have a large Evenflo left over from my first DS. I do need it to last for a long time and I tend to have big boys...DS 11 mths is almost 25 already. That is why I like the Mac's and even the Peg's. But It seems like my Aria is already hard to push around with the little guy in it.

I have a Mac Quest and a Twin Traveller. I would recommend the Quest over the Triump b/c the Quest has an easier recline feature and the wheels can swivel or be locked into place. I love my macs and couldn't live without them. I have a different stroller that I use for long walks outside, etc but for mall trips, dr. trips, travelling, and short walks into town - you can't beat the mac's weight and the easy, fast way it opens/closes. I agree with all the posters who suggested Ebay to you for your stroller sale - I sold my triple decker on their and got back 3/4 of what I paid for it. Check out Albee baby for macs on sale...usually last years fabrics...having the newest fabric wasn't a concern for me and I made out very well buying from them.

I wouldn't get rid of you Peg until you know your DS will like the Mac. My youngest HATED my older Mac Daytripper until she was over 2. I think she didn't like not sitting straight up.

You may want to try a consignment shop for your stroller when you want to sell it. I've got a Mac Rally Twin that is practically brand new because my youngest wouldn't ride in it.

I got that twin and the Pliko from Albee and had great service from them both times.

I already have a Volo and he doesn't mind riding in that. We took it to Disney last month, but it would have been nice to have a recline. I was thinking of letting my older son use the Volo at Dis. and getting the Quest for the baby,

That's a great plan Kimpossible. I'd pick the Quest over the Triumph.
