At about what age does a baby normally learn to scoot, as in pushing their legs and arms like they're trying to crawl. I've been looking through my books, etc and I don't see anything about this.
My four month old has been around a crawling 8 month old this week and she has all of a sudden decided to start scooting across the floor. Is this normal? I just wasn't expecting this to happen until after 6 months. She JUST learned how to roll over a little over a week ago. I thought it would be a while before she did anything else.

Then the pediatrician said his muscles would be weak and he'd be delayed, I was upset and DH gave me a hard time about it but still the baby screamed. Then at 8 months he pulled himself up and started walking... he skipped right over crawling and never did it unless he was dragging himself over to something to pull himself up to walk.
