Has anyone used this before? I am going to be dying a white bedskirt purple. I have the bottle of dye. It says to do it in washer or by hand. The washer thing makes me a little nervous (not sure why....just the thought of putting purple dye in it and if something doesn't go right....). But the hand says to stir "CONSTANTLY 30-60 min" That's a long time!! Advice?

I've used it many times. I would not use it in an HE washer though.

The color will come out a lot lighter than what is on the bottle unless you use about 3 bottles. Here's how I do it:

Fill the washer with water and dye.
Get the article to be dyed completly soaked with water before placing in the dye so that the dye will be more even.
Let the washer do it's thing and you're done.

Don't worry about the washer I always wash the washer with bleach when done to make sure. If you're not careful the plastic ring may become discolored, but it won't get on your clothes.

Since I have an HE washer the last time I wanted to dye something, I took it on vacation with me and dyed it at Saratoga Springs resort and I left no trace.
