OT question for DVC ladies......

After 25 years of marriage to DW I've learned to not ask certain questions and just accept somethings for no other reason then "because". Now,I understand it takes ladies longer to get ready to go somewhere-hair,make-up,etc... No problem, gives me more time to watch ESPN. I also believe most DW's do the actual selecting of clothes & packing.NOW for the question: As my DW was doing her make-up one morning, she asked me to hang back up the clothes she had gotten out and decided NOT to wear that day. Without even thinking I asked "Why didn't you wear the first set ?" After a momentary deer-in-the-headlites look she responded with "I don't know" and went back to doing her face. So I'll ask a larger audience- Why ??? Do you suddenly feel an outfit will clash with Tuesday ? Might not match breakfast ? Seeings how DW painstakingly laid out every outfit on the bed prior to packing it,it's just baffeling to me the angst she goes thru in deciding what to where from day to day. Just curious if anyone has a logical reason.

Ok Here's my $.02 although I'm sure you'll find others. I try to stay away from white clothing when theres a chance I may go on a water ride and get drenched!
Also try to lean toward the looser clothing when going out to eat a good meal. Need to leave some room for the belly to grow.
Ok Ladies fess up!

I can only say that I pack approx 2 extra outfits per trip in case something gets dirty or we unexpectedly go into the pool after a park but before heading out to dinner or whatever that evening -- you never know what may happen and you need an extra outfit or 2 -- so sometimes nothing happens and you don't wear some of the clothes you brought with you or you bought something new while there and couldn't wait to get home and wore it while still on vacation. Hope this helps! :D

KNWVIKING, if guys could figure this stuff out, we would win the Nobel Prize! Honestly, my wife does unexplainable things everyday, and as you have, I have learned to just accept it. :teeth:
Hmmm...I wonder if the women here think anything we do is strange???

My husband owns more pairs of shoes than I do.

It takes longer for him to get dressed in the morning.

He packs more, too.

My son is more likely to change clothes three times during the day than my daughter.

If you guys figure it out, let me know.

Sometimes, I just don't know until the last minute how I feel abou the day. Do I want to look really great or be comfortable? As I'm getting ready I may change my mind and decide that I'd really rather be comfortable for the day.

It just takes some of us a little longer to adjust to a new day before we make a decision.

:D

I take 5 swim trunks, handfull of tank tops & socks. I shave on T&T day. I'm very low maintance of vacation :-)

It's the beauty of being a women!!!!!

I got an easy answer........ right now I am pregnant and I cant make up my mind about anything........

Maybe your wife needs to tell you something!

Not only can I get ready faster than DH, but I can get myself and the kids ready quicker than my DH can get just himself ready.

I also am the one who usually puts his outfits together before the trip (along w/ the kids' ;) ). I wrap up the underwear and socks inside the shirt and shorts...he likes that.

Not sure what to tell you about the outfit switching....I always have a good and logical reason if I change my outfit in the morning. (Usually has something to do with the way it fits, finding a stain, or realizing it won't work for what you have planned. (i.e.....when we're going to be on the water rides, I try not to wear heavy jean shorts that will take forever to dry, or the thin/white shirts as a previous poster mentioned.) Sometimes it might be that I realized I'd rather "save" the outfit for another event that week.

How about "because we can"? I loved the question and the search for the answers!! Made me smile and LOL!!

Sometimes the selected clothing just doesn't feel right!!

Since we'll have a w/d this time, I'm only planning to take 2 pair shorts, 2 overalls, and t-shirts for an 8 night stay. I'll let you know what I actually do take!! Packing clothes for a trip is not the thing I do best!!

:p :p :p :p

Did she actually put the outfit on or change her mind beforehand?

I have some outfits that I really don't love but I bought because of some great sale that I just couldn't pass up:D . Sometimes I plan to wear them but then decide Naaa!

But then there are days that I feel fat or I'm having an "ugly day." I'm hoping other women understand these days. DH, who of course thinks I'm the most beautiful, shapely woman in the world, can't understand these days so maybe it's a girl thing. Anyway, the not so great outfits simply will not do on an ugly day but I don't know it's one of those days until I try to fix the problem with hair and makeup. (I'm pretty quick at getting ready myself. It takes me about 10 minutes once I'm out of the shower. But the clothes do make the woman...) This probably makes me even harder to understand. I can't understand it myself. How does the face I wake up with look nice one day and ugly another???

As for men doing strange things, I'm sure I can't think of one single thing! :p :p :p

The part that got me was "doing her make-up". I don't wear makeup at WDW. If you get soaked on Kali River Rapids, they have the tendancy to lock you up with the mammals because you resemble a racoon. Pull the hair back into a ponytail, add a DVC or WDW ball cap, put on the sunglasses and go.

My husband and son are the ones who change their shirts twice (or even three times a day) a day at WDW because they wore it to the pool, instead of putting on the older T-shirt with the swim trunks, and now it's damp. (and clean underwear and socks as well) They always have more clothes than me in the suitcases.

One final thought, maybe she was starting her period and felt fat or worried that she might have other problems. Maybe she didn't shave and was worried about stubble showing. Maybe she didn't really want to wear that "I'm with Stupid" shirt afterall. ;)

Sometimes as soon as I put on an outfit, I look at myself in the mirror and say "ugh", so I change. Some days I feel good in anything and then there are the days that I just feel like I look yucky in anything I put on. Even with all that I can get up, shower, do my make-up and hair within 20 minutes.......add 10 minutes for 'one of those days'. :D :D

My wife does this also...but she ends wearing the outfit she had on in the first place...

I have to say that I've put an outfit on and then changed for serveral reasons. My main one is because I have a small child that I'd pick up and if a shirt is too lose or low cut I feel that I might be too revealing, although there are some that might like that ;) . Also, if you get dressed and find out it is going to rain, you might change your white shirt. Also, you might not have the right undies on for the shorts you just put on and have to change them. Another reason that I've changed an outfit was because I put it on and then decided that I wanted to wait and wear it a different day for a specific occasion. I've even changed the sneakers to a different pair of sneakers because of the weather before. Make up, well, I don't wear it at all, not an issue for me.

Why is it that some posts that have nothing to do with DVC or Disney stay here and others get moved? I posted one on Disney FRS radios here knowing it would be moved because it didnt deal with DVC but I knew DVCers would be interested and many don't read other forums but at least there would be a link for all to see.

Again, it doesn't matter to me. We are like minded people in here that all have DVC in common so I think we should be able to discuss things that aren't directly related to DVC such as what our wives wear. We've met people in here and want to discuss things with friends here. Just curious as to why some stay and others don't?

By the way, my wife does the same thing. Put on something, then make up hair, etc. When I come back in the bedroom 10 minutes later, the outfit she had on is balled up on the bed, another on the floor, and she's ticked of cause she has(say it with me guys:D ) "Nothing to wear."
