he is interested take advantage of it WDW might just offer the incentives needed to really make this happen

I use cloth so I cannot say how well pull ups work but why not... worse case you have to change his clothes

I have not read all the post so forgive me if this is a repeat!! My daughter is potty trained. We put her in pull ups though. Those toilets at WDW are automatic flush and she is scared to death of them. We are getting better at this now, but not when we were @ WDW. SO....be prepared for that. Just some helpful hints.

I have 4 children and they all potty trained at different times. My oldest was 4 when he was finally trained. He still wets the bed at night occassionally but alot of boys do that. I think that he had more pronbles than most with potty trining because his father was left us when he was 3. He would see him sporadically and I believe that this effected him potty-trining wise. My oldest daughter told me on her 3rd birthday that she was not a baby anymore and that she wasn't going to wear diapers ever again. She than proceeded to strut into her big brothers room and grab a pair of his underwear and put them on! She has never wet or pooed her undies since- not even at night. My youngest daughter was A CHALLENGE! She would poo in the potty but would pee in her pullups or undies because she (get this!) liked the warmth! :crazy2:  We told her that unless she went in the potty all of the time that she wasn't going to WDW with us. She knows that Mommy and Daddy DO NOT lie so she potty trained in 1 day. :cool1: She was almost 4. My youngest is 2.5 and he decided 2 weeks ago that he would like to pee in the potty and we put him in regular undies and remind him every 1/2 hour to go to the potty. He goes in the potty 95% of the time. We got rid of diapers because he informed me that your supposed to pee and poop in the diapers and that was why he would do so every time that he had one on. Hopefully he is fully trained by November when we go back to WDW but if he isn't it isn't much harder to carry an extra pair of shorts and undies than a whole stinkin' diaper bag. Good Luck Guys!!!

I feel for you, my DD(2) does not mind being wet either I left her in her pull up form overnight until noon, she didn't care. I let her run around naked, then she peed on the carpet and didn't care it was running down her legs. I keep telling her Cinderella does not allow diapers, but she still doesn't care, candy doesn't help. Today I am trying no movies or her TV until she pees on the potty, she will poopy if I put her on and she thinks that is considered the potty and I keep telling her no she has to pee pee too. She is very stubborn and independent !!! I wish she didn't take after me in that way :guilty:

You are decribing my daughter, now age six. The stubborn hasn't changed, nor has the independant. But she did eventually potty train at 3 1/2. Pour yourself a glass of wine (if you drink), sit back, and assure yourself that children do not generally go to college in diapers. Then let go......you will save yourself mounds of frustration (I think I have some less I can share). If she still hasn't potty trained herself in another year or so, take her to her peditrician for advice (and a heart to heart about being a big girl).

Went went in OCt and DS was 2 1/2. We had tried kind of when he was 2 and he didnt really warm up to the idea. So we waited till we got back from Disney. We started in Nov and left the diapers for Santa(to give to another little boy who needed them) and that was it. He still wears pull ups at night and that is my next project.

Since he wants to potty train by all means go with it. Explain that when you get to Disney, he can wear pullups just in case there isnt a bathroom around but that he should still try and go if they are not in line. Just try and hit a bathroom before going in a long line.

every kid does just what they want to do

my DS was tinkle trained by age 2... his baby brother was born and he didnt even have a relapse. He is now 3 and totally dry, he will occationally have a poop accident.

Had to find what he wanted... Buzz Lightyear, we have a hand me down Buzz who has to live in the bathroom if he has an accident. If he keeps from having accidents to very occationally Buzz will leave him a brand new in the package Buzz at our resort when we go to WDW in September.

We make a pretty big deal out of putting Buzz back in the bathroom when an accident is had

be careful anything can change the situation. My husband went on a week long business trip, when he returned my DS had 3 days of nothing but accidents. he was mad at daddy and didnt know how to express it. Once he and daddy talked about their feelings the accidnets stopped

Goodluck

Post it notes....carry post it notes.

I knew that you could stop the flush by covering the scensor. Post it notes!!!
That is such a good idea. That you VERY MUCH!!!! :cheer2:

My princess: DD was 2-3/4 on our first trip and was mostly potty trained. The problem we had were the automatic toilets! She refused to use them (Once she got flushed on at DL and that was that :confused3 ) I still have to stand if front of her or hold my hand over the sensor so she doesn't get surprised (she's still small, 43" 43#, and the sensor dosen't always see her).

On that trip every time she said she had to go potty she would see the automatic toilet and change her mind. There was no convincing her! Needless to say she wore pullups on that trip and we got to know every location of all the baby stations since they have small, non-automatic toilets, for the kids.

I'm going to remember to bring some post-its next time, in fact, I'm going to put some in my purse right now since it still remains a problem.
