OT: Politics and the Dis

I guess I should have made my thoughts more clear....

What I meant was, if you think people are going to keep their opinions to themselves HERE, on THESE boards, you've got another think coming.

That being said, if you want to discuss politics, go to the Community Board...unless it's politics as ranted about on the podcast, then hang out here on the Podcast board. As far as signatures go, if you're going to be offended by them, then there are ways of making signatures invisible under your options. Do that. I detest many of the signatures I see, but I'm not offended by others' opinions expressed therein. If they were offensive, they would be banned. Just because they're not MY opinion, does not make them offensive...just wrong.;)

I agree keep to the current boards guide lines----- but this forum is unique as we all seem to come here to vent, look for support, or share a laugh with friends!!!

elections always bring out frustration in everyone!

And in response to those thinking the US election trail is never ending - I didn't realise it took so long for all the state votes, in this country the main election happens on one day! I still don't fully understand the workings of politics/elections both sides of the pond so apologies if I've used the wrong term:worship:

Actually, the main election does occur on one day - in November (re-election campaigns usually start in December). It's all the primary's that drag on forever.

OMG, it's like I wrote this myself, it's me to a tee :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 .............now I only hope we are playing for the same political team!

Well, your from MA....so chance are we don't see eye to eye..but hey....ya never know :thumbsup2

Hey at least you get to vote for your leader! Gordon Brown got in by default, I'm sick of the current party and then to have someone take power without an election it sucks  Oh well roll on May and we can hopefully express our opinions :thumbsup2

I enjoy seeing/hearing what others opinions may be without having to read through pages of threads. I also love the way (it seems) you guys are so fired up about politics - the way some Americans have those support posters one their front lawn etc. From the outside it seems like you all care and want to make a difference - here it's like we can't be bothered as a nation :sad2:

I totally agree. If Gordon Brown had got his act together and had an election when Blair left, he would of got in. Now he is praying for a miracle, and an economic one at that!

I live by the rule, if i don't like the thread, i don't open it, or i close it as soon as it gets nasty. I have been burnt on the community board that way!

I quite enjoyed getting all worked up and then being able to expound my views, opinions and ideas. Thats what life is all about in my opinion. I have gotten into quite a few spats in my short time here and I find it entertaining but as some PP's have said stay out of the community board and you will more than likely avoid the sbujects that you want to escape from. :happytv:

OK... NOW I'm riled. Here goes.

I'm from a state that's across-the-board PIE people.

Man, these freaks get my dander up.

I'm a CAKE guy stuck in PIE country!!! Half the country voting PIE, half voting CAKE, and the other half Undecided!!

What's that?? As American as Apple PIE-CAKE?!? Who can live with such insanity?!?!?!?

Apple Pie-Cake

“You should make this every day of my life,” said Katie our 13-year old daughter. We're glad that she likes this cross between a cake and pie and we can make it often because it is so easy. Because it uses canned pie filling and takes just a few steps, it's a snap to make.
We couldn't decide whether this was a cake masquerading as a pie or a pie masquerading as a cake so we called it a “Pie-Cake”. You can serve this as a coffeecake for brunch or with ice cream or whipped cream as a dessert.
Apple Pie-Cake
2 large eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup sugar
1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 21-ounce can of apple pie filling
1 1/2 tablespoon turbinado sugar for sprinkling on top
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
1. In a medium bowl, beat the eggs, vanilla, and sugar together until smooth and thick—about one minute.
2. In another bowl, mix the dry ingredients. Add them to the egg mixture and stir until well combined.
3. Stir in the pie filling.
4. Pour the mixture into a well-greased, nine-inch deep dish pie pan. Sprinkle the turbinado sugar on top and bake for 20 minutes or until browned and a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
Serving suggestion: This is one of those desserts that is much better served warm. Heat individual servings in the microwave.

I will just say this...............my views do not make me very popular around here. I figure it this way, I would rather be right then popular!!!!;)

Then I think we'll get along just fine :) I'll keep my money and you can keep yours!

Never mix politics and the mouse

Personally, it depends what mood I'm in. It doesn't really matter what board/forum I'm on, just depends on my mood moreso.

:lmao: :rotfl2: ..GO BROWNS!!! I am a Cleveland transplant here in Colorado. I really dislike the Broncos, still....and how long ago was the drive and fumble....

Yeah! I know what you mean. We lived in Pittsburgh for a while (my DH got transferred there for a year) and it was TORTURE during football season:rotfl: ....LOL!

I tend to skip over post that I don't agree with or"want" to read.

Pretty easy to do.
