We're thinking of taking our kids to Plymouth and I was wondering if anyone has been there and if there might be some suggestions of things to do. Thanks!

I Have Been There On 2 Class Trips. The Big Attractions Are Plymouth Plantation Which Is A Living History Museum With Pilgrim And Indian Settlements Re-enacted-very Well Done

Also The Is A Replica Of The Mayflower For Touring In Town

I remember going to cranberry bogs around that area too. I thought the films about harvesting cranberries were very informational.

Also near the Mayflower is the Plymouth Rock. And Oceanspray has a tour with a sample taste of cranberry juice. It is informative.
Just up the street from the rock there are some specialty stores, it is very quaint with cobblestone sidewalks.
Have fun, I used to live very close to Plymouth. I loved watching tourists see the rock for the first time, they were always surprised at how small it actually is.

Well the way you learn about it in school you expect it to be muuuch larger haha. I was thinking more like a BIG boulder...but it was just a rock.

Just a warning, its going to be freezing this time of year.
As for what to do it depends where you go. If you head down to plymouth rock you can also go on the mayflower, but it costs money and isnt too interesting. Theres a wax muesum across the strees from the rock, but again costs money and not oo interesting. There are lots of little shos on that road, mostly tshirts and touristy shops.
If you go when its warmer, my favorite beach is down there but I wouldn't go this time of year.

Plymouth plantation is near their, not right there, you can't walk to it from the rock. I don't know about anyone else but it was my least fave place to go on a feild trip. I've never taken my kids because the cost is ridiculous. Its $24 for an adult and $14 for a child. And there isn't a whole lot to do there.

IDK, plymouth isn't my favorite place to go, as you can see. But I live near here.

They have some ghost walking tours by candlelight or lamplight, and I believe they start across the street somewhat near the Rock.
have fun!

We went two summers ago. We stayed at the John Carver Inn. The pool was great. My kids loved it. The hotel was pretty nice. The staff was really helpful with ideas on what to do. The restaurant in the hotel sucked! We were able to get discounted tickets for both attractions here, and it was a good deal. We found out that they also do haunted walking tours at night in Plymouth, but we just didn't have the time.

The first day, we walked down towards the water front and poked into historic buildings. We did the Mayflower II, the rock (what a joke!), and then walked along the road by the water, looked in shops, got ice cream, etc. We walked back through a very pretty park, walked past the grist mill, and then back to the hotel for dinner and swimming.

The next day, we did Plimouth Plantation, which was really fascinating. You can go as fast or as slow as you want. My kids enjoyed interacting with the Pilgrims. We drove back home later that afternoon.

It was a really nice trip. Enjoy!

if you are going in nice weather (summer time) and your kids are young there is a pirate cruise. We loved Plymouth Plantation. Plymouth Rock is just a small rock but free to see. There is another living history museum http://www.jennygristmill.org/ but I've never been. I live relatively local but we did stay at John Carver Inn once and enjoyed it. At various times the hotel has musicals/plays. I was bored with the cranberry stuff. The shopping area was fun to browse around.
